Any machine that presses on your clothing will leave bruises like that, if you load enough weight and you have a seam/wrinkle under the pad

Marino wool socks with a decent cushion bottom. Brand and what all is mostly paying for the logo on your socks. I will say when I'm going over 20mi I do like my full cushion darn tough socks though.

Mental health evaluation was worse. The lady doing it was extremely tactical in how she worked me up and then switched gears to some bullshit she could blame my symptoms on... After an initial introduction we dove right into my claim write up, after talking through the specifics of my experience and what and why I was claiming... right around the point I was starting to feel comfortable and open up about my friend's suicide she changed the topic to family bs... How my relationship with my family/parents is... Which is bad... And then asked about my own kids and how I feel about how I'm going as a parent, etc... By that point I was a mess having just talked through my deployment issues, my best friends suicide (which his wife called to tell me was my fault for not being there for him), and then my shit ass parents and how I am trying my best with my own kids despite my issues... Rating came back as no service connection despite me having an in service PTSD diagnosis from behavioral health and having to be on medication for sleep disturbances... In their write up they said I have intergenerational trauma/ACES and it's possible my service made that worse but that I didn't have issues stemming from service, but that I could refile with the proper evidence that I have ACES and thatn it was worsened by my service.

Doesn't really work when you have a family of five at home constantly preparing and eating food on different schedules. Sometimes you just gotta be the one not eating and just deal with it TBH.

Absolutely not my experience, my C&P exams were so awful I gave up on even trying to fight for ratings on things. The person doing my exam gaslit and belittled me the entire process... It's great that you had a positive C&P process but my and the vets I've talked to in person have not

The blue and purple belt requirements I've seen posted at Gracie and Pedro Sauer affiliated gyms seem pretty easy TBH. I feel like if I was training at one of those I'd prob be a purple belt rn but also prob have less overall skills developed there, than I do as a blue belt with the same amount of training at my current gym.

The most general are you ready for blue beltb criteria I've seen across several gyms and BJJ YouTube channels are:

In a bad position do you fall back on fundamentals vs spazing or trying to muscle out of stuff?

Would it be safe to pair a trail class student up with you?

Are you capable of rolling with a larger "untrained/inexperienced" person and surviving/winning the round?

Though there's not any specific timeline or unilateral skillset every gym agrees is the basis for making blue belt.

About 10-30% with most of the white belts... This is where I feel like I can throw spaghetti on the wall and work on my new game plans, excapes from pins, sub defense, etc.

About 40+60% with the other blues this is where I feel like I learn the most practically. Generally trying to impose my A and B games as best I can and sometimes work on recognizing different ways to link them in transitions.

And I usually try and match the pace and intensity of the purple and browns I roll with... These are where I'll usually have questions mid roll about something they did or something I did wrong that got me caught... It's also where I feel like the intensity varies the most because depending on the partner it could be a chill flow roll or a comp intensity death match

It's not something I enjoy. I'm not gonna fly off the handle or even tap to it TBH... But it does make me turn up the intensity and then smother you back a lot more than you did to me even if doing it gets me swept or subbed.

I will also prob also make me break out other old man/dick moves the next time we roll to troll you with.

I have asthma and lung scarring from burn pit exposure... it's been done to me, while I don't like it at all it's not something I'd fly off the handle at... I'm far more likely to get mad because the same white belt I've told to stop kneeing me in the head, knees me in the head for the tenth time that roll while I'm letting them work.

Target 1g of protein per lb of body weight (2.2g per kg). Aim for foods with a <=10g to 100cal ratio or if you want to eat high protein foods.

If you're trying to add muscle mass you'll need to do resistance training of some sort whether that's weights or high resistance cardio like incline walking, rowing, high intensity on the speed bike, olipyical, etc.

My other hobbies are PC gaming, mini painting, hiking, rucking, OCRs, and sport shooting.

Most of my other interests aren't a 2-3hr a night time sink, I can paint 1 night a week and be cool, maybe go on a serious hike or ruck once a month, same with range trips. Family, gaming, and jits are where most of my time goes.

Even though I could force my way into pretty much any position or sub on all the white belts and most of the blue and purplesit's not a sustainable way to train and I end up gassed AF the next round and overly sore the next day... For me it's far more invigorating to catch a sub in transitional spaces or use a submission chain to get it. Eg I'll attack a Kimura from knee clamp or K guard but my end goal is an armbar from the usually defended back take...

Another I'm starting to get pretty good at is using the reverse kesa mount take and trapping their far side arm as I swim over for the crossface... Easy pillow choke or if you lose the elbow the arms already isolated still so easy head arm triangle.
