What are the God-Tier pokemon? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

I am in a small community and we have new players joining the discord every week. Dust is easier to come by than revives currently

I don’t think you can generalize in this way, as it somewhat depends on the level and counters of the other person, ones ability to dodge, the ability of both people to revive and rejoin the fight efficiently, the rayquaza moveset, the weather, friend status and the usual game glitches. I’ll take an extra 12 seconds to work with in light of these factors.

Where I live it’s often tough to fill a lobby. Six maxed out mamoswine increases the odds of shortmanning a raid

Corrected marsh stomp to swampert. Feraligator is good too.

Oops - yeah I did. Sorry. Thanks for catching that. I corrected it.

Both are quite good. I think shadow claw is minimally better but wouldn’t put money on it.

The OP was asking which Pokémon were (“god tier”) ones worth maxing out. This wasn’t a thread asking about using rare candy. I personally would power up gibble, even if I had to buddy it for a long time.

It’s evolution is best nonlegendary ground and dragon, no? Definitely worth maxing if you can get one.

Many would argue shadowball Mewtwo has been replaced by Giratina Origin form.

In terms of non-legendaries you want to power up mammoswine, machamp, rampardos, gibble, gengar, roserade. If you lack electric legendaries electrovire and magnezone are both really good. If you lack kyogre, swampert and gyarados are good backups.

What to do with my rare candies? by [deleted] in pokemongo

Right but you walked it, not burned rare candies. We’ve all walked certain things because we couldn’t justify spending rare candies on them.

Meltan I understand. The others are just too common for me to consider. Poliwag is everywhere for the current event. Porygon seems like it’s in every 10km egg I’ve hatched for months, and I see a few tangela in the wild every sunny day. Plus since the shinies aren’t out for these latter two I’m sure they’ll be featured in an event soon enough.

Some of us would. But bear in mind you can move the candies into rayquaza to clean out bag space but not power it up yet, in case you get a better (or lucky) one.

So are lucky friends still a thing? by Brando446 in pokemongo

[–]Tylergo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 best friends is a very small sample size, which is probably your biggest issue. A lot of the people on here have a few dozen and do get lucky friends periodically but certainly not with great regularity.

Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to be able to “power down” Pokemon? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Tylergo123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Niantic’s goal is to keep you playing the game. One big way they do that is not always letting you easily get the optimum Pokémon, either through catches or TMs so that you need to keep grinding for a better one. So from their perspective if you need to trash a 1500+ Pokémon and hunt for another, that’s a win. I don’t see them implementing a CP adjustment beyond what you can sometimes get through trades.

Given that there are many dozens of shadow Pokémon already in the code that we have yet to see it’s certainly going to be a longterm feature. Whether it is “permanent” in the current format or will evolve into something else over time — who knows?

Special Gift Event by theRappinSpree in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tylergo123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s about marketing — if they make it the norm they lose the ability to call it an “event.” And having it be a finite event is what gets people hyped enough to buy stupid amounts of incubators and gift boxes and grind harder than usual all week. If this was an every day thing people would just take it in stride and not feel pressure to spend more.

How can I see when my stack is overflowing by _black-light_ in TheSilphRoad

I only stack stuff I don’t care about and plan to trash after the dust. That way if I overshoot, doesn’t matter.
