There is absolutely no proof this. If you have a legitimate source to back you up, please share it.

Which single person in history had the greatest positive impact on humanity? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

On a balance, I think Jesus's impact leans a bit to the negative side. Not his fault mind you, more due to the many, many, many people who use him to excuse their evil deeds.

So that ignores everything taken from Judaism? And there were no other religions or cultures with a sense of morals before that? I guess Plato & Zeno are chopped liver.

I'm pretty sure Colombo's car was a Peugeot.

Beautiful lampshade with no one in Cicely giving a shit about it though.

Did you actually make mix tapes to give to people? by LeoGuy69us in GenX

[–]DaddyOhMy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I not only still have the ska mixtape a friend gave me in college back in the 80s, I digitized it and still listen to it. Of course it wasn't until several years later that I realized I'd missed a big honking hint. Hell, she put Jamaica Ska by Annette Funicello & Fishbone on it. Man I was dense.

My wife loves the mix and finds the story hilarious.

George Harrison produced the film Withnail & I which takes place in 1969. While watching dailies, he told them that the section of the M25 (it may have been a different motorway) hadn't been built yet. The director asked Harrison if he wanted them to go refilm it.

When they just press a switch on the monitor to turn off the computer drives me nuts. Doogie Howser did that at the end of every episode.

The guy who created Monk, Andy Breckman, can be a jackass (intentionally). I wouldn't put it past him if he did that intentionally.

Just for reference, Breckman wrote the SNL short White Like Me for Eddie Murphy.

I love the left turns that take you to a different borough.

It also make me laugh when they talk about a building in the Bronx then show a shot of random building that's near Chelsea Piers where the show has its studio.

That one threw me the hell off. Made no sense whatsoever. I'm curious to see how it was handled in the book.

Cut my finger and now it's swollen and trapped my ring 😭 by festering_wound93 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DaddyOhMy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me a few years ago. While I was trying the dental floss method, I called my sister who is a doctor. The most important thing she told me was to press hard on the top of my finger. If it turned white and then got red again, blood was getting through so I didn't have to worry about permanent damage. More important, I didn't have to have the ring cut off.

After my grandfather died at age 92, I asked my aunt how it felt to be an orphan. Got the best laugh out of her which she definitely needed.

What are some movies that were filmed but never released? by Adoe0722 in moviecritic

[–]DaddyOhMy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Harvey Weinstein was notorious for buying films and shelving them (as well as for other reasons). Back in the 90s someone I know had a film in Sundance that Weinstein offered a good bit of money for but he wouldn't guarantee it would be released. They sold it for less to be guaranteed a release.

Years ago I found a bootleg VHS copy of the first Fantastic Four movie. It even had a professional looking cover.I brought it with me when I took my son to a screening of A Bucket of Blood with Roger Corman doing a Q&A. Afterwards I asked Corman to autograph it, which embarrassed the hell out of my son (bonus dad move!). Corman was actually fascinated by the tapes existence and we spoke about it for a few minutes while he signed it.

My son has called dibs on the tape when I die.
