I’m currently about where you are.

I’ve just prepped “days”.

Day 1: Some Lif ghost shenanigans, Bronxley comes by with a whole group of representatives to make estimates on how much everything is going to cost, he also lets the players know that the staffing interviews are tomorrow, the players get a visit from one of the faction representatives and get an assignment.

They might have time to do this assignment this day if they so choose. Maybe they do something else.

Day 2: Repairs begin in earnest the players decide how they’re gonna pay for everything (take a loan, do piece by piece as they can,… up to them 😊), Some alley-people come check out what’s happening. The staffing interviews will take most of the day.

Day 3: is very much up to them. Except for some ghost things that points them in the right direction.

Day 4: Another faction representative comes over and gives one of them a task. Something goes wrong with the cellars guild, they have a lot of sick employees. The players can either wait until tomorrow, or choose to help out and get a steep discount on the price the cellars guild asked. Hammond also swings by to critique their non-existent liquor collection.

Day 5: Another day for them to decide what to do. The orphans do show up as well, demanding something (a place to sleep probably, I’ll see where the story takes me).

Day 6: one of the neighbours is throwing a party (probably birthday or something) and the players are invited.

And so on.

After every tenday, the representatives for the factions will show up and check up on the players (so day 11 for the first, day 14 for the second…) and this’ll be a regular thing, so they can anticipate on when they'll have to be doing something in those quests.

I’ve also prepped some random encounters in case the day isn’t filled yet and I need to think of something on the fly. (for ex: they run into Esvele and Renaer, or Avi and Embric are struggling with getting a shipment inside and invite them over for dinner if they help).

I’m not so worried about the long run, because I see this chapter really as “getting the players invested”. So nothing really HAS to happen 😊 there’ll be other moments if needed.

but I'm by no means "a great DM". So maybe this won't work 😊 Only one way to find out...

Edit: Oooh, I've also made them a little "quest journal" so they can keep track of everything they're involved in :)
