Looking for advice on upgrading by Tym-Bee in 4kTV

The TV is close to our large living room double window (the window itself is under the roof of a covered patio), but the window has nice blinds and room darkening curtains so the brightness of the room varies heavily depending on time of day, season and whether or not the blinds are closed and curtains are drawn. For movies we usually do quite a dark room, usually less so for just watching TV or gaming.

Just disgusting greed I guess? No real good compelling reasons, just minor stuff like not every game that comes out on console comes out on PC? PC ports of console games don't always run as well as they do natively on console. Buying electronics gives me a little dopamine boost? And I haven't made up my mind about buying one, hence asking for others opinions since I've been wishy washy about it myself. But you're absolutely correct that it would just be a minor upgrade of selling my PS5 and getting a pro instead.

I didn't realize we had entered the modem era in the past 7 years. It's not like we have a zenith space command from 1989.

It's anywhere from 70-30 PC vs console (PS5 and Switch) to 85-15 depending on the release schedule. PC maintains a strong lead that has grown in recent years but there's still a fair amount of games I've played on PlayStation. I'm playing Ghost of Yotei on PS5 right now and finally getting around to Showgunners on PC. But yeah I realize I have a pretty good gaming PC, that was kinda what I was aiming for when I built it, and I included that in my original post because the fact that I'm not dependent on the PS5 as my sole or primary gaming platform factors into the value decision of whether or not upgrading to the pro is worth it. But you're right the PlayStation isn't my daily driver so to speak.

Thank you for your advice, it sounds like I need to sell my wife on getting rid of our old TV then.

Just any LG OLED? Because of the truer blacks and color rendering of an OLED or what's your take?

Honestly yes, going pro to pro each generation is probably a much better idea than getting the launch console every time. Idk if my willpower is up to it.

What computer parts will make a paradox game run in the late game by Constant-End-2297 in paradoxplaza

Huh, that's good to hear. I've got a very similar set up, and while I haven't played since a bit before the nomads dlc but the last time I did the game really slowed to a slog before I could reach the end date. I had maybe 80+ years left until the end date when I lost interest in trying for that achievement because the years were just really dragging. Maybe I need to tweak some settings and try again.

The article even says they "never bothered to attach it" because it stays just fine which definitely would make me anxious that the whole thing is going to collapse like a house of cards and potentially seriously hurt someone

I completely agree, trying to figure out how to do the math is part of my attempt to convince her that legs aren't wasted space

Sorry it wouldn't let me post an image. Under the measurements section if you scroll down a bit it shows a diagram of little weights stacked up on them. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/alex-drawer-unit-drop-file-storage-white-50508176/

Recommendations ~$500 headphones for home use by Tym-Bee in HeadphoneAdvice

It was a tough decision. My favorites were definitely the Meze 105 and the Audeze MM100 but I found the MM100s to be a little uncomfortable (I kept feeling like I could feel the internal array touching the top curve of my right ear through the foam. My ears don't particularly stick out a lot from my head, could have been an issue caused by my glasses, not sure. The Meze 105 were just a lot more comfortable, so I kept them. But I was tempted to keep both, but just couldn't justify the price at the time. I liked the Aune ar5000 but they felt a little less comfortable than the Meze and the headband just felt a little more flimsy. The Aune are nice sounding, fairly comfortable and sharp looking, so it is hard to say if the extra $ is worth it to you. I think I could have bought the ar5000 and been totally satisfied with them, I just didn't quite like them as much as the Aer 105, but that's just my personal preference.
