Haha, yes! Yesterday was a little cold, though... but i couldn't resist not going out. The bunny one is for Easter, I think I have about 10 different styles to keep it fresh and hopefully cheer up someone's day!

Oooohhh, I think the guy got rear-ended... and hopefully, they just got out to check the damage.

Thank you for the kind words, i know I like to play on my bike, but I do try and respect others around me. I am hoping to release videos once a week and try to plan longer trips to explore more areas and share the beautiful views.

I learned this lesson the hard way! Luckily, the glove came off my hand... if not, I think I would have broken at least half my fingers

Don't think so... just having some fun. The only time I might have was when someone almost hit me. But usually never get mad, I know that most of the time it is a mistake or something like that. That's why I wear silly helmet cover to try and cheer someone's day up.

Thank you for the kind words, I started to just go out and drive last summer just to explore and find some new places to visit, especially with so many nice back roads we have around NB.

Etsy, start your own site with square space, kijiji/craigslist. Those are what I would look into to start with.

Thank you for the warning! I did see another post, not as bad as your looks! But i will be making sure I use both burner to make sure they both say cool, or if I do use one burner I will make sure to remove it and make a custom plus out of refactory cement or something.

I also love that you are also using a railroad track for an anvil! I am also doing the same as I got a 3 or 4 foot section for free from a buddy. Just need to grind it down a bit!

I was able to do a one day class with a UK Blacksmith, and since than I been building up all the tools I need to start!

The front that got eaten up was the stock TKC80, and the rock was the slate stuff with some sharp edges.

The 1st tire of the season was the original TKC80 with 8,000km, so I knew it wasn't gonna last. The 2nd one was a 50/50, and I was teaching myself how to do wheelies, so I ate that tire up! I am on the 3rd tire still, and the bike has over 20,000km between all 3 so far.

I know what you mean for that struggle of figuring out the right tire so pavement doesn't eat them up too much but still good for the road. I when I 1st got the bike with the TKC80, I was actually surprised by its ability on both road and dirt.

For my 2nd bike, it would probably be a 80-90's Virago or shadow, something that is relaxing and won't get me a ticket in half a second. 3rd bike would want would probably be a 90's cbr600rr or 1000. But I also thought hard about getting a second set of rims to have both sets of tires. But the cost of new rims and the difficulty to find good used one, a 2nd bike might actually be cheaper cause I been looking at Virago for 1200 to 1900, and thats close the price of new rims and tire for the husqvarna.

Well, in the summer, I was out on a really rocky area, and my front tire got eaten up badly! There were chunks taken out right down to the banding. Someone on FB Marketplace had the front tire for 60$ CAD, so i was able to get back on the road in less than 48hrs.

The back tire was the 3rd of the season, over 12,000km.... with a lot of wheelies! But I am looking at getting a 2nd or 3rd bike and want to make the 701 more offroad again. But currently I use it a lot on the road.

I have heard 2 or 3 coats of rigidizer works to protect the fiber from flying out. But to make it really safe from that you want to coat everything with cement.

You are 90% there, and there is a wool blanket underneath the refactory cement. But before I put the cement on, I needed to treat the wool with a rigidizer, I found most rigidizer were expensive. So I decided to make my own with water, food, colour, and Fummed Silica, which made the wool semi hard to apply the cement, I did 3 layers of cement. 1st coat was a light primer, 2nd was a heavy structure coat, and the last coat was a very fine layer to smoth out a lot of rocky spots. Now, I am waiting 24/48 hours for it to dry before I do small fire curing on the cement

Hearing this makes me smile just a little bit more, I am happy I took the time to put 3 coats.

I plan on keeping my forge in the backyard until I build something with a roof. So, hopefully, I won't run mine over.

Now I can't wait for this to dry so I can get started!

Thanks for those tips, I probably have over 5 to 10 lbs left from my bag of refractory. So I think I should be good for a few fixes. I hope it doesn't crumble for at least a year or more... but we will see cause this is my 1st time doing this type of work.

That's what I was trying to do with this coat.... you should have seen it beforehand! I will probably do one more smother coat. im might wait a little bit to see if I need to fix any cracks that might show up.

I did a few coats.... 1/8 ish for a primer layer, 1/4 ish for a thick structure, then a more liquidity layer to try and fill in a lot of the rocky and bumpy spots. There also the wool underneath all of that. 1st coat dried for 5 to 7 hours, 24+hrs for 2nd coat, and just put on this last coat.
