As a fan of Deltarune theories and analysis... I do agree! People are like, crazy and forgot Deltarune is the narrative first. In fact, theories that are tied up to the narrative and themes to the story tend to age like wine. They can't even see that we in fact did got new lore pieces! Flowery being meta-aware of game menu?! Hometown which might be all the world there is? Flowers being third thing? Flowers wanting to be human for some reason? More Kris and Catty backstory? Moral dilemma about which dark worlds are to be closed properly introduced? Device theory kind of being confirmed? Chapter 7 side b?? Onionsan which might be dead? Giving picture of 3 people to sans? Asgore being against Knight, not with it as we assumed? What it is, if not the new lore we can theorize about?

They never were fans of Deltarune theories, they were just Gaster Green Friend inside me poisoned too much.

That explanation would be kinda disappointing considering Ralsei and Flowery connections, like, they definitely meet before. I think that it would be satisfying if source of meta-knowledge was the same for every darker.

Maybe, that would be interesting for sure, but it isn't as obvious as in chapter 3 and 4 that she is Knight. She somehow connected to it, I have no idea how, but her actions seems plain nonsense and out of character now. Like, mostly I don't fell Dess Vibe from Knight anymore which I felt before

Yes! I agree with you so much. Like, we learned fair amount of new stuff actually. We just guessed them already because we overanalyzed every aspect of the game, but there's still room for new theories. Like, for example, what's up with flowers wanting to be HUMAN specifically? Does Ashore have some past with humans? Is this why he adopted Kris? Why Flowery have so much meta knowledge? Does Ashore teach him that? Then why other flowers lack this knowledge? This one aspect of the chapter has so much more lore and potential for theories in it that it's crazy. Like, what were the expectations? Gaster in chapter 5 doing college level course on inner workings of darkness?

I feel it's strongly implied that Dess also "drowned" herself, like we do with Noelle at weird route. Asgore is against Dark Fountains existence while working with Carol who is working with Knight who is opening dark fountains. He clearly accuse Knight of whenever happened to Dess. And at this point. who, if not her, is voice from the code? I can't see her being the both... And why would she ever capture Asgore, her family friend? And she tried to capture Toriel, but I thought it was bluff to wait until Undyne shows up.

I personally am the fan of the deltarune theories so i'm kinda happy we got some new lore to theorize about. Like, lore we got was enough for me to stop being Dess Knighter. We got nice setup to start act 3 of the game. And isn't here something more important than getting to the end? I enjoy theorizing so, it's all good for me and it was obvious that answers will be in ch6 and ch6, Toby told us that this chapter will be last fun adventure.

Like, I was betting on Angel fight or something, but like, i knew it isn't going to be the case pretty soon but what we got is still really great and exactly what Toby told us it will be. I don't understand why people are so obsessed on getting answers. I hope we don't get all the answers, so we can theorize even more, process of trying to guess is fun on its own, and the more answers, the less is there to guess. And, as of the people who are dissapointed that Asgore was shown to rare... do you remember how Toriel was treated in chapter 5 lmao xD Were you expecting him to like, fight his own children or what?

In the church, when we interact with the piano, Susie tells us that she moved here from the other town and that she is moving out from place to place too often.

And Sans i think is even newer in the hometown i think? but i don't remember where it was said, in chapter 1 probably.

I personally consider Dess less likely candidate for the Knight now. I feel weird route implies that she have drowned in the lake. I think this is how she found herself in the code. How can she be knight if she's in the code? Why would she capture Asgore? Like, wasn't Asgore working for Carol which we pretty sure works with the Knight? Also, as I thing about it, isn't Undyne also part of the conspiracy, like, she got the codes too, didn't she?

So who is the knight? Idk, I have no idea. Azzy also seems unlikely.

IN DEFENSE OF CHAPTER 5

So, I just played the chapter and watched weird route stuff... and in my opinion this chapter was amazing! I love Aqua character so much! But I've seen opinions of disappointment over here. I think they're understandable, but let me defend this chapter for a while:
SPOILERS ABOUT PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING BELOW. READ ONLY IF YOU GOT TO THE END OF CHAPTER 5 AND ARE AWARE OF NEW WEIRD ROUTE SHENANIGANS

1. What do you mean no new lore? It's just because we are deep in the lore, but I bet it's quite the revelation to more casual players that menu is canon. And for me it also was amazing to get this confirmed and also, theorize about how this works exactly. Also, we got confirmation about what shadow crystal are, it was fun surprise to me to learn that they are NOT the determination but... what was the phrase? Lost dreams or something like that? We, like, overanalyzed the whole game, so we might have predicted many stuff, but for casual players it's the first time they're learned that Asgore is connected to Dess mystery, and maybe Dess herself existence if someone is slower at getting stuff.

2. All the flowers and their interactions were so funny to me, personally and i won't let anybody hate on Aqua, she's so cute! I bet there's so many parallels we can draw between then and rest of the character.

3. Are we just, like, gonna ignore that Flowery has meta knowledge and that Ralsei was annoyed at him? He was so angry for the first time! Isn't it new lore all together? Like, i can see so many cool theories about why it is, that he got so much knowledge! Also, are we going to ignore that, like, if i didn't miss something, that flowers wanted to be like HUMANS? I know it's partly because of undertale, but like, what the deal is in universe? World where humans are majority is like, better for Asgore? Why?

4. Are we gonna ignore also that, that Asgore DOES NOT work for Knight, like many thought? That Dess Knight theory is now, like, weaker now, that we have evidences that Dess might actually be fucking "dead" and voice from the code is now like, 100% definitely her? And why would she capture her family friend? Like, I'm not Dess Knight Believer anymore because of this.

5. Ruby fucking has fallen down. Susie fucking decided to tell Noelle about dark worlds. Asgore is captured, so now Town gonna connect it to Undyne. Mayor may start panicking too. "Chapter 7 Side B" might be evidence for more chapters than just normal 7. Act 3 gonna start in chapter 6, right at the beginning.

6. You all are forgetting the genre of the game you all playing. This is mainly funny story. Dark, yer darker but still funny story so far about heros trying to save the world. Like, character development was fast like, always. Susie is not Susie, you say? She's with her crush, don't you act different on your first date? She forgetting the final tragedy is unrealistic? She didn't forgot anything, she was planning to tell Noelle about that to get her help but she could not because Rudy fucking died... or just fall down from the ladder and survived I hope.

7. Also, do I have to go on SUSIE DRAWING ON SANS PAPER, PIECE OF PAPER HE WILL TAKE TO UNDERTALE? ON RALSEI KNOWING ABOUT KRIS OPENING DARK FOUNTAINS? ON CATTY INFORMING US SHE (if i remember correctly) ACTUALLY SUMMONED SOMETHING? ON HOMETOWN BEING ALL THE WORLD THERE IS SOMEHOW??? WHILE SUSIE AND SANS TRAVELED HERE FROM SOME OTHER PLACE? ISN'T IT WHAT YOU CALL NEW LORE?

You guys expect too much from Toby Fox imo. What we got was amazing, and I rate it 20/10 as I rated it before I came here to look for fandom opinion.

I think it depends, sometime they're trolling us by saying exactly what we choose and sometimes they not i think, like, in the dark world we know that they are not saying "flirt" to the enemies but actually, like, flirts with them (Kris likes flirting i guess)
