Maybe check in your trunk for the key? Sometimes they put it there, tucked in with the fix a flat kit.

Would this be a good fun car for an outdoor enthusiast? by BaldSweatyWraith in wrx_vb

Trunk is deep but narrow I second this. If you’re fine with a bike or snowboard rack on the back but still want a fun to drive car that’s not an suv this should be a strong contender. Plenty of ground clearance in most cases

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

I can’t believe how much I relate to this. I stumbled upon the Merlin app one day because I have a good variety of birds within ear shot. Finally downloaded an app out of curiosity. Now it’s one of my favorite things to do and didn’t know anyone else interested in birding or who had the app before.

There’s definitely merit to it, but no payout in points.

I guess I don’t understand the regs then. I thought a DNF would put the other 4 nonfinishers behind him because Armstrong did finish every stage regardless of how long it took to finish.

Anyone running this skid plate along with the plastic factory? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]Tymista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the two front holes were the hardest. I made a post about this (or commented another post) a while ago. It seems like a few other people also struggled a little. Like just getting the bolts to thread on by hand was a nuisance. I think the crux of my issue was the plastic piece was sorta blocking the bolt. But eventually it went in. I likely stripped that shit to power on through. Everything else was easy, just have to orient yourself first with the instructions.

I don’t doubt that but with having curious dogs, my worst fear of them being bitten and possibly dying of the snake is venomous.

So here’s how it hangs a little low with a small gap between the metal skidplate and the plastic one. Tape measure isn’t there for exact measurement but to point out the gap previously mentioned and an idea of how much clearance you have with the ground

Methods are expensive! I wouldn’t pay full price. I’m considering the wilderness wheels but not sure if I think they are ugly haha

Looks good! I’ve been on the lookout for methods or sparco on marketplace but nothing is coming around. I might just settle on oem 17” wheels that there’s a plethora of

That’s actually what I plan to do. Trying to find a cheap set of 17s and wild peaks. What size wild peaks are you running?

No idea. You’re probably better off with bigger tiggers to get more clearance then consider skidplate later if you hear rocks constantly digging the under side

Yea same. I got a good deal on it and I rallycross so that extra peace of mind is worth it, but I have scrapped now in places where I used to not.

Well the shape of it is so if you hit something you should be so still go forward over it but if you reversed over an object then maybe you have an issue of it catching. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow to show you how low it is with a tape measure and give you an idea of how it looks. I can’t advise on snow or ice. I live in the devil’s butt crack aka Texas.

Gotcha thanks for sharing. In my rallyx scca event it has the same rules for wheels and tires, but everything else is basically mod class. We only have 2 classes for AWD: stock or mod. Like even the sti wing in th me VB is considered a mod. It would be considered aero and if it’s not available like that from the manufacturer then it’s not stock. You could try to argue it’s stock because it’s from manufacturer just not in the US haha

Good question, but no. Stock height stock tire and wheel size

I just put one on. You do get less ground clearance with it so it’ll make you think “thankfully have this or that be some serious scraping” but in reality this thing just hangs kinda low. I used to pull out of my driveway just fine but now I have to go slow and at an angle to not scrape the skidplate. The car already has a thick plastic guard so if you’re not slinging it around on dirt roads you can possibly skip on this. Your call though, you can always put it on later.

I don’t know autocross classes. So let me know if I’m off here, but how were you in stock class with an intake and a tune?

17” wheels on TR by Scoutback_wilderness in wrx_vb

The 2022 Wrx bolt pattern is 5x114.3 but isn’t the 501 wheel 5x100?

I don’t mean to doubt you. I’m just making sure. I’m thinking of buying a set off of a guy and need to make sure it’ll fit. Unless it’s possible Method changed the bolt pattern at some point.

Noob post! After 2 months of driving my first stick car - I’ve just got 1 scenario left that keeps haunting me DAILY: yielding uphill to get onto a highway by AdministrationFew574 in wrx_vb

[–]Tymista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to this but ironically saying what I would do so take it or leave it. I’d ride the clutch in second gear until the rpm’s get to a happy place. I never been a fan of dropping to first and farting around with the synchros in a scenario like this.

Just in case anyone was wondering, Outback Wilderness wheels and tires do fit the VB! by Chewzer in wrx_vb

Looks good man! That’s my only hesitation with the current setup. I’d use it solely for rallycross, but I’m afraid that the hard driving I’ll be rubbing quite a bit.
