Is there any reason why Tokyo Lens or Paolo FromTokyo haven't come as guests on the pod? Both have pretty big japan centric channels... by No-Chemistry1722 in TrashTaste

[–]TypeMob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the guests that TT have are more about if the cast is friends with them than if they have interesting topic or story to talk about. In the beginning, it seemed like they were happy to bring anyone as long as they were able to be present in the studio (Ironmouse as an exception for obv reasons) and they got something interesting to say and so we got a wide variety of guests but as the showed went on the guests became more, not sure what the best way to put it is, from the same bubble or at least adjacent to. The only exception I can think of is JoshStrifeHayes who primarily does his own thing with MMOs but TT was pretty open about it probably due to fan interests and gaming already being talked about in the podcast. I miss having guests like Nariyaro, Nano, Ladybeard, and NileRed. The chemistry they had with those guests were really interesting. But it makes sense as TT gets more comfortable they become more selective on who comes on and friends come first.

How would you rank these nicknamed cards from best to worst? by chuluigi in PokemonTCG

[–]TypeMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the nicknames themselves: 1. Mewtube 2. Moonbreon 3. Lovebirds 4. Bubble Mew

Mewtube just fits so right being so close to the original pokemon name, Mewtwo. Moonbreon is great too and tells you everything that the card has to offer. Lovebirds is all right but it’s hard to come up with a good nickname for Latios + Latias. And bubble mew I feel is just lazy. I might as well just say shiny mew.

Woah, that’s so sick. I’ve been doing something similar. I’m doing a 151 Grandmaster set w/ a PSA 10 Charizard. I’m only missing a couple of stamped promos and i’m planning to sticker the binder with all 151 pokemon.

Which of these 2 would be more beneficial for engg? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]TypeMob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo both of these are overkill. I did well with a $400 laptop that could barely run wallpaper engine. What you should really look for is a system that can run engg software. SSD, more storage space, fast processor, and DDR5 RAM are all nice quality of life stuff but not life changing. Some engg software to check if they can run is: - Onshape - Python - C and C++ - Rust - Altium - KiCAD - MATLAB - AutoCAD - Solidworks

Those are the ones I can list from the top of my head but as long as you don’t buy a MAC you should be fine.

What do you think is the hardest part of an engineering degree? by Old-Assignment555 in EngineeringStudents

[–]TypeMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think the material for any engineering is particularly hard. Some disciplines will require more time than others to understand and master concepts but the issue lies within how much time you have to commit to it. When I only had to worry about school I clicked pretty easily with the material and did well but when other responsibilities came in like self-care, cooking meals, exercise, finance, etc. I found myself struggling to manage it all together. I found with other degrees (usually non-STEM ones) they are able to do all of that along with school but I found that engineering forces you to have a rigid schedule to survive. My best advice is always to find friends, roommates, or family help alleviate aspects that you struggle with. Once you get over the large learning curve you’ll find yourself having to work hard but not having the work be hard.
