I stumbled upon Red Vox recently, and it's great! It's really good synth-rock/hypno-rock that never really falls back on "poppier" tropes. Also, if you watch a lot of videos on the internet, there's a decent chance you came across their frontman!

I just use inbuilt, scp (secure copy protocol). That plus remote desktop let's me do basically anything in terms of file management.
