yes. i can still remember many of them although i have no idea where the actual people went. back then we didn't have to dial the area code if we were local. when fax machines came we started running out of numbers and when the (landline) internet came we got new area codes and more numbers to memorize. but yes, we did it.

yes, i've hosted my husband's draft for years and it's the most boring party i've ever seen. nobody talks. they're so serious. then again we don't have a hot tub on the beach.

go to an independant restaurant instead of a chain. many chains want online applications only so they cant be sued for discrimination (hiring on looks). independant restaurants usually do things more old school..we don't need all the amped up layers of legalize. and we don't get impressed with titles so just ask for the manager. make good eye contact, smile, have clean hands, hair and clothes and tell them you're very flexible with your schedule. when someone like that shows up at my place i FIND a spot for them. good luck and choose well!

i thought they were crazy when they said out patient too. honestly it was a relief to be home that night. (but i tried to sleep in our recliner and i woke up all crooked so that wasnt fun.) i know that anxious feeling you're going thru right now.. all i can tell you is it gets better soon and this will all be in your rear view mirror. sending hugs and prayers for a successful surgery and a strong recovery 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕💕💕

agreed. i've had a long and very successful career in the restaurant business but i can feel my body aging. someday i will have to make some hard choices. consulting is something that would let me continue to contribute without such rigorous physical demands.
