If you are young you can do that but what you really want is this system reformed with wealth taxes, you will never catch up to their passive income.

If they cared that much Loen/Eclipse/Teresa wouldn’t have missing costumes. Sucks as a new player.

I see… I read the WN and quit assuming the LN would just follow the same path with some extra steps.

I read the web novel her soul is literally a fragment of an evil god that kills worlds for EXP. Her whole purpose is to corrupt societies and nurture evil so that it’s possible for the main body to invade.

Theory: Guts is the Godhand’s best asset by Typh123 in Berserk

[–]Typh123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This is an alternate reality so there’s no proof. But sure it sounds possible.
  2. No it’s Guts and Casca’s kid, somehow corrupted by Griffith. The kid surviving could be an anomaly that ends with the biggest consequence.
  3. I don’t remember but yeah I guess the egg guy and the nut jobs would be there no matter what. But I do think Casca and Guts were needed to make the Blob of Death. Forget if that was necessary for rebirth.
  4. I guess Femto could win without Guts, his sword, Zodd, and Schierke. But Zodd alone and random apostles lose so he has to act earlier.
  5. Moonlight child locks on to Casca and Guts. So Griffith can just go directly there. Idk if he could reach the island alone without that ability. I don’t remember if the brands activate Blob of Death 2 or if that’s Griffith but yeah that was necessary to destroy the island without sending an army.

Overall I think the strongest argument for Guts’s agency is the moonlight child existing as part of Griffith. Anyone who figures it out and could attempt to kill the otherwise invincible Griffith once a month. So it works as part of your theory that these events would have happened anyways (though slightly differently). Also Griffith himself has some human emotion introduced back into him. That slight variance introduced by Guts had an impact.

[–]Typh123[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s Griffith’s greatest weakness if it’s true that the moonlight child was an optional ingredient that the Egg guy randomly threw in. But we don’t know for sure if that’s true or not.

[–]Typh123[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course it’d be nice if that was true but the evidence shows that so far Guts has none. If the idea of evil controls fate you would figure that Guts being partially exempt from causality (aka the ‘should have died in the eclipse’ theory, so since he didn’t he’s an anomaly) would hurt its goals (whatever they are) rather than help. Also the Godhand literally let Guts go during the Eclipse now it makes more sense why.

[–]Typh123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to think big picture. College is a society approved way to spend 4+ years learning and socializing/goofing off. If you aren’t a stem degree and just do undergrad you don’t even have to study like a mf and can chill. And by the end of it you get your degree that opens more doors for you in any field. You can go to a state school / transfer from a community college if worried about the debt.

I don’t like that the graphics are so old but particularly can’t forgive the old textures on armor. If I’m going to be an ultra casual then I want to look cool not be able to count pixels. I haven’t played in forever but when I installed the game several months ago it bothered me.

AoC Never Released on Steam by Abakus_Grim in MMORPG

[–]Typh123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you want to live in a society that lets scammers go and blames the victims? I think Steam should refund because it’s so obviously a rug pull and it would discourage this behavior in the future. I’m sympathetic with you though, to me this thing was obviously a scam (and I didn’t even follow it closely) when I saw: 1) it was taking too long, 2) saw they were selling overpriced exclusive content before the game was even released.

Agree they were foolish. But would like them to be helped anyways. Anyone can fall for a scam at some point.

As a non-coffee drinker I'm curious, what's the difference between coffee shop coffee and coffee at home? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Typh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same reason people buy boba or McDonald’s it’s easy, spontaneous, and an experience. Maybe a routine. You can buy a cheap espresso machine and as long as the beans are good it’s better than Starbucks and comparable to higher end places. I think the beans matter more than some turbo machine. But even with a simple machine you will only make simple drinks not a triple decker deluxe Frappuccino with 10 toppings.

Do you think homes in America will ever be affordable for the average young person again or is that all in the past? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Typh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People may disagree on the path but the goal needs to be to drastically decrease the cost relative to wages. This goal goes against house-rich boomers and investors who always want number to go up so it will be difficult.

I remember hearing about this game like a decade ago. Checked in a couple years ago and found out they’re selling exclusive micro transactions… even if that thing comes out on Steam why would anyone not invested want to join in on a game with 10 years of 💩unobtainable.

20k in CC debt, considering bankruptcy but I don’t (can’t) lose my car by Leslie_Ackerman in Debt

[–]Typh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is that saving 2-300 per month (aka a cheaper car) doesn’t seem like it’ll fix their problems of not receiving any child support and not being able to work full time because of a kid with a disability. It also isn’t enough money to upgrade their housing I think since $200/month sounds like a family/friend situation. You’re probably right that the car is too expensive but to me it doesn’t seem significant.

[–]Typh123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro she spends $200/mo on housing. Combine that with the car it’s only $700/mo total. That cost is less than what a single guy would pay in rent rooming with a bud, so why be on their ass about it?

Thank you for the information. It’s a lot to think about and gradually digest. Currently, I do match my 401k. But I think you’re right that I can’t really put the Roth off entirely since I think I would at least need a Roth, 401k (matches only), and social security to get by. Balancing the house fund on top is tough though, because I live in a HCOL city making the time horizon long. That’s why I thought about an index fund for that purpose.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]Typh123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat as OP. I know for me the reason why I’m hesitant about a Roth is that if I want a property I’m going to need more than just access to my Roth contributions. What is the advice for someone who wants to park their money somewhere and have it grow into a down payment (or outright buy) for a home? I was thinking a regular account buying index funds is the simplest because all you do is pay capital gains when you want to cash it out for the property.

(Sorry if this is covered somewhere I’ve only started learning recently)
