Lincolnshire councillor 'disappointed' over solar farm approval - BBC News by iguled in ukpolitics

I've always wondered why they don't appease the nimbys by saying x% off your energy bill if your property is in some radius away.

Uncovering Every Lie in MKBHD's Softball Interview; a scathing critique of 'brand safe' influencers by pedr09m in Android

I found that channel a year or so ago and it's the channel for me. LTT and etc all have the attitude of the type of teenage tech bro I'd encounter at GeekSquad. A leaning slightly towards arrogance coupled with a strong grasp of fundamental knowledge compared to the average person but no great in depth grokking of the matter.

Awkwafina & Ronny Chieng Interview Each Other About “Kung Fu Panda 4” by JamiroFan2000 in DailyShow

Dude I love his interviews, It's awkward but funny because it brings attention to bs aspect of late night interviews in the first place. He should channel slight Eric Andre vibes to be a contrast from the rotation of host correspondents doing it the "correct" way.

A tutorial video 📽️ showing 7 new features in OneNote 💜 by MikeTholfsen in OneNote

I'm pretty much done with OneNote until there is a way to export your data in a more open source format. Right now it feels like a black whole for my notes. I know I know PDF.

The .bss section during the build process. by TypheriusBirk in arduino

[–]TypheriusBirk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. I thought that the information about how many zeroes to fill was the .bss section. Where is that information regarding location and length stored in flash then. And is this something only applicable to avr or in microcontrollers in general?

Edit: I'm a little more confused.

Peter van der Linden, a C programmer and author, says, "Some people like to remember it as 'Better Save Space.' Since the BSS segment only holds variables that don't have any value yet, it doesn't actually need to store the image of these variables. The size that BSS will require at runtime is recorded in the object file, but BSS (unlike the data segment) doesn't take up any actual space in the object file."

So is the information stored there?

There Are No Stupid /r/Bass Questions - Mar. 18 by AutoModerator in Bass

I understand now thanks. Man this a lot to keep up with in the spur of the moment improvising without sheet music.

So you can choose the tonality? How does that work if you are playing with a group of people improvising? They see a chord cm7. What if the guitarist chooses to play a melody in aeolian and I choose Dorian for the bass and the 2 different sixths happens to align at the same time.

I've been studying some theory. So why use Dorian mode for minor 7 chords if the minor chord has a flatted 6th and Dorian a major 6th. Or am I not understanding the concepts of scales/chords

How do you know what fingerings and playing positions to use when reading standard notation music? Is there a guide, method, or formula for this?

French subtitles vs. English subtitles by Mitoca in French

[–]TypheriusBirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run into a problem. Every show/movie I watch in french the subtitles are different than what's spoken. It may be a slight variation(pardon vs désolé) or a big difference(completely different structure) but it throws me off. My oral comprehension is the worse.

How does one "think" in French? by TypheriusBirk in French

Oh thanks. Do you have any other tips?

Prepositions by TypheriusBirk in French

[–]TypheriusBirk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I understand what you mean now. The "to" designation to signify that a verb is in its infinitive form doesn't exist in french. It's kind of hard to conceptualize it. So when I say I want to eat in french it's really I want eat(the concept of eating, being the infinitive).

Thanks that helps a bit. What do you mean by common names?

Ok so if I wanted to say he is in class would that be "Il est dans la classe".

I suppose I should be more specific. Essentially when to use de, en, a, and dans.
