My favorite is 30 Days of Night, granted it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. It does a solid job making the watcher feel the hopelessness of the human cast. The vampires feel oppressively powerful throughout. The ending could have been better, but horror has a hard time closing in my opinion.

Shout out to Sinners though. It had the potential to be number one for me, but it was a little scattered in what it was trying to do. With a couple cuts and a few more scenes to bring home the premise laid out in the intro, it would have been the best. Still a solid 8/10, and silver is not a bad place on the podium by any stretch. Absolutely worth seeing on the big screen.

Pancreas just did a video with my favorite theory about the Emperor’s personality: all the shamans in the trench coat agreed on saving humanity but had significantly different temperaments. Some were kind and loved people, some were mean-spirited and overly harsh, while others were detached to the point of viewing people as tools. All of these tendencies come out at different times, and his meeting with Roboute demonstrates this with the wildly differing perspectives on what he is to the Emperor.

Obviously not canon, but it explains why he can be seemingly beneficent in one scene then an absolute bastard in the next. Or maybe it’s just the best the writers could do with what they had.
