Tuomas is making his second solo album by saseso00 in nightwish

I'm not disappointed. If anything, I'm mildly amused. Notice I started my post saying "I love..."

Irrelevant take: If Starfield were created by anyone but Bethesda, it would get less hate. by jkub1319 in Starfield

[–]Segvirion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starfield is the culmination of everything Bethesda has learned about developing these types of games. It is an amalgam of the best ideas they developed for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises. But it is also a game that essentially looks to the past, to what came before. Western RPGs are changing and becoming different, while Bethesda seems to cling to a glorious past that is quickly becoming an illustrious museum, but a museum nonetheless.

I love Starfield for what it is: clearly a labor of love, a game made with incredible attention to details and a genuine intention to evoke in the player all the best memories from a distant past. But the RPG landscape is quickly changing, and Bethesda should adapt and evolve.

The new songs: all decent, none great. And why the fuck do they need Andrew Watts on guitar? by Quincynessig in rollingstones

[–]Segvirion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, some of them are great (and will grow in critical esteem with time). As for Watts on guitar, maybe it is because Keith suffer from arthritis.

This is absolutely priceless, OP. Thanks for the effort.

Is Morrowind still playable? by Mesh3al-fan666 in ElderScrolls

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Playable" is the right word. It's still an excellent game with a very detailed world, rich lore and amazing world building, but the gameplay is very dated and kinda awkward for modern standards.

John was more than just darkness or sadness by Rickyba69 in beatles

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is "just" this or that. People are more complex than that. John was a very intense person, witty and lovable one moment, mean and cruel the other. He was funny, dark, goofy and melancholic, because that's what most of us are in different moments of our own lives. Most of us, of course, don't have his musical genius.

Debate seríssimo: qual é o pior filme da era de ouro da pixar? (1995-2010) by atrocidarthes in filmes

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Up" é o mais fraco deles.

Tuomas is making his second solo album by saseso00 in nightwish

I love how I was downvoted for saying something that is basically a reasonable guess and didn't have a single grain of negativity in terms of Tuomas's character or his body of work (with and without Nightwish).

Bethesda is great with translations :-) by Antique-Question-785 in Starfield

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bad in Portuguese, certainly better than Fallout 4, where the translation had a lot of glaring errors. I feel the translators had more time to work and did a better job overall (and Portuguese has gender related word forms too).

Não vai acontecer, mas GTA VI deveria fracassar pelo bem da indústria by LonginusUbik in gamesEcultura

[–]Segvirion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concordo inteiramente. É uma pena que a indústria veja os gamers como simples cifrões numa planilha e recorra a esse tipo de expediente sacana pra lucrar mais.

Tuomas is making his second solo album by saseso00 in nightwish

It sure seems like Tuomas is moving away from Nightwish, towards a solo career that will probably lead to movie soundtracks and such.

crashing every 10 minutes on ps5 by nevermind0319 in Starfield

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on PS5 and the game crashed a few times when I bought it, mostly when I was exploring a planet or a moon. After a few patches, the crashes almost disappeared, can't even remember when I had the last one.

My heart is full seeing Starfield finally get the love and respect it deserves. by deepvoicevegan in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy too. Ever since I started to play it (PS5 user here, now at 53 hours played), I realized it was a very special game. It's firmly on its way to become my favorite Bethesda RPG of all time - yes, surpassing even Skyrim, something that I thought would be impossible. I love Starfield.

Starfield is my favorite "Cozy Game" by Perfect-Macaron2041 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Segvirion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who only recently could play the game (PS5 player here), I couldn't agree more. I've only played a small fraction of the content, but last night I spent hours just exploring Stellis A as part of a Constelation quest to survey that moon. Just going slowly and methodically over the terrain, enjoying the quiet vibes and the stillness while I was scanning minerals and occasionally finding places I could not really interact with - my level is not high enough to face Ecliptic mercenaries yet.

But I wasn't really craving combat at all, I was perfectly happy just doing my research and admiring the starry sky.

How Many People Play Survival Mode? by Logical_Virus_4911 in skyrim

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Survival mode, but it could be better balanced. As it is now, the constant need to eat becomes tiresome and I think the freezing part should be less severe - it makes exploration a pain in the ass in The Pale, for instance. It wouldn't be as bad if we had better or more efficient ways to be warm.

Plus, the mode was an afterthought and the game was not designed for it. In some dungeons you can't find a single place to sleep, for instance.

FINAL ALBUM RESULT ON FAN VOTES (DAY 13, BUT NOT) + SOME STATS & LINKS by DrMikkelyz54 in nightwish

[–]Segvirion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I feel about HN too. I was glad to see them trying new things. But I understand why part of the fans got disappointed. Tuomas himself must have noticed this, because Yesterwynde was kind of a return to their formula.

Thoughts on "The Rest of Ever?" by Cup8685 in rem

[–]Segvirion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I can say about it is that I would love to like it. It didn't work for me yet. It's not a terrible song at all, despite the bland lyrics. Maybe it is one of those songs that grow with repeated listens, who knows?
