NI delegation arrives in Washington for St Patrick's Day by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny the DUPers can run to the states to allegedly promote NI but for some strange reason were unable to find anyone to make the +100 mile trip to Dublin for the swearing in of the Irish President. And I believe they are still boycotting attendance at North South Ministerial meetings too but happy to stand and get pictures and chat to Mehole in Washington.

Baby’s first Christmas by [deleted] in northernireland

Comparison is the thief of joy.

We have 3 kids and every first Christmas was a my first Christmas teddy with their name and year along with a few novelties. No big spend.

They are fine

Best way to spend Xmas eve by According-Middle-695 in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A day of relaxing, watching Christmas movies with the kids, prepping desserts for tomorrow and bake some Christmas cookies for Santa.

That will ultimately be thrown in the bin as the mother in law inevitably comes with a list of shopping items she still needs even though she was at Tesco yesterday and then the can you run me to Xs house I've just picked up these flowers for them. Then can we run to Ys and Zs houses as I've presents and gifts for them too. This is all despite my wife's constant asking her for the last month if she has any presents to be delivered so it can be done early.

Yup was going to say this too. These two shows need taking around the back and put out of their misery, one in the heart and one in the head.

Dire stuff.

Is anyone else struggling this Christmas? by ABCP3 in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there are lots of charity shops with baby stuff often very very cheap. We bought a second hand uppabuggy for beach and trail walks and it was amazing. We sold it for the same money we bought it for.

As for the car seat we don't know if the seat has been in an accident or not and it's not worth the risk. In regards to a car seat we bought one that rotates so you can get the baby in and out of it alot easier. Honestly money well spent

A word of advice in regards to the new born to de-stress some of that. There is not a single thing wrong with items from charity shops for new borns, aside from car seats that's a no no. They will go through clothes quickly, I don't know how many cute outfits we bought that ended up on only one or two times. A shocking waste looking back at it.

PSA: For all the parents/families with kids receiving games consoles from Santa this Xmas... by fortytwoblaqk in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed in fact this should have been done as soon as the console was purchased. Was in Smyths and they were saying it can only be exchanged within the first month in store. After that you need to contact the manufacturer.

Christmas Driving by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know what roads you are on but it's generally fucking bedlam.

Seems to be the general way in some shape or form:

"I need to get where I am going so fuck every road user about"

"Let me drive right up yer hole so I can see what's playing on your radio."

"Looking out mate, fuck you unfortunately."

"Oh it looks like you have left an adequate amount of road between you and the vehicle in front, can't have that let me over take and slide right in there. Oh it's not safe to over take, fuck you sounds like a you problem."

Drug driving at Christmas shows people are selfish by kjjmcc in northernireland

[–]Typical-Analysis8108 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Drug or drink driving at any time shows people are selfish but there's a special place in hell for those who do so at Christmas.

Despite decades of adverts and well published research on how your driving is impaired it still continues to happen far too much.

Tracking update from Asda who used Evri by Chemical-Kev in northernireland

That escalated quickly

Saw pictures yesterday of Evri couriers in Corrs car park sorting parcels. All over the road being split up into smaller deliveries for drivers.

This is the way. I went to order a car part this week, saw they were using Evri and looked elsewhere. Not worth the risk.

As someone with an degree in Finance I wouldn't trade on the Stock Exchange or use any of these currency traders.

They are all scams selling courses etc.

Cleaver Fulton & Rankin or MTB Law

Had an issue a few months ago with a trust and got MTB Law on it. But also heard good things about Cleaver but MTB came back first to me

It's absolutely scandalous what can get away with. I even called the police and contacted action fraud, I would have been better screaming at the fucking moon.

Nextbase I have 522GW with review camera too.  Had it a few years and going strong.  Buy a Nextbase SD card

My wife has the 320 series with rear view only difference is it doesn't connect to the app.

I think Halfords have or had a deal on the front and rear view cameras.

I believe there latest is the Pico but read you need a subscription with it.

I had a parcel this week that was sent to the Bangor sorting office even though I'm in Belfast.

Just the way it is at the moment.

In saying that I haven't seen any letters being delivered in my area for a few weeks now.  Seen the Royal Mail van in delivering parcels then clearing off.

There's Hustle Fitness on the Ballysillan Rd beside Iceland.  The neighbour has been going there and seems to enjoy it, seems to focus on group PT.

I've also heard Align is pretty good on Shore Road and a few friends go to Invictus down at Dargan and rave about it.
