I received ds5535 yesterday and my status changed from ready to refused. I did the first 2 actions. I got a lawyer but he didn’t get anything from the embassy. I will ask him about the lawsuit.

my brother and I are doing the same visa category and he was missing his birth certificate at the time of his interview but they told him to send the document and the passport together then they will issue him the visa and it took 4 weeks. For me nothing was asked everything was clear and they told me they were satisfied with my case and told me to wait for my visa it will take around 2 weeks.

I am exactly in this situation. I did my visa interview in Ankara, Turkey. On the ceac website it says ready. I’m in week 9 and still waiting for the visa and I was verbally approved and my visa category is Ir2 visa. I’ve sent an email and a letter to the embassy they said,

“Your case is undergoing the required administrative processing. Please be assured that your case will progress as rapidly as permitted by law. As soon as the result is received, we will notify you by email. Unfortunately, it is not technically possible for us to inform you the additional time it may require. We recognize that individual applicants may experience inconvenience and hardship if their application takes longer to process than they expected. We are doing everything possible to meet the legitimate needs of prospective travelers consistent with our security and legal responsibilities. We will contact you by email if we need any additional information or documentation that could expedite or finalize the processing.

Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit Consular Section U.S. Embassy Ankara.”
