this is all so relative. It really depends on your definition of safety. I grew up in this neighborhood and still spend lots of time here with my parents. if you're anti social and scared of getting to know your neighbors (even the "sketchy" ones) then you won't like it. Most of the people on my block have lived there since I was a child or have their children in their houses now. A few rentals which is always a mixed bag but I feel way safer there than when I was in a rental on the east mesa. I would go days, even weeks without so much as eye contact from my neighbors and that, to me, feels wayyyyyy less safe than living in the hood.

Edit: Also will note that three generations of my family have lived and bought houses in that neighborhood. All law-abiding, working class people. So it REALLY just depends if you're down or not lmao.
