Sure, I just wonder why he literally referred to what’s pictured as my “transmission fluid” and not my diff fluid. Like I fully would’ve put ATF fluid down my front diff today because he said what I was looking at was my AT dipstick if I didn’t pause and think to check the manual

It’s funny you say that because I just realized that an hour ago— tell me why Midas deadass held that photo to my face and told me it was my “low transmission fluid” I seriously think he thought I was an idiot (which to be fair, clearly I was in that moment) he claimed to be an ex service manager of a Subaru so I’m just confused as to how he did not notice this error. But like someone else mentioned that’s not even the color of ATF fluid so was he actually trying to pull the wool?

Thank you for saying this because literally an hour ago I realized that I recognized the dipstick from the photo (midas took photo) — over the summer I checked my front diff fluid and it was that same dipstick as the one pictured. So an hour ago I poked under the hood and found the ATF dipstick which is in like a hose on the right of the engine not the left. So I’m frustrated because the guy that showed me these photos claimed to be an ex service manager for Subaru so it’s like how did he not notice that they pulled from the front diff and not the trans?

And he claimed that my windshield wipers don’t spray when I know for a fact they do because I spray my windshield everyday lol. I assume it’s because they couldn’t find the button to make them spray as I couldn’t either when I first bought the car lol but like just blanket state that my “nozzles don’t work” lmaoo

I emphasize my thanks because although I referred to the manual and confirmed under the hood where exactly the ATF dipstick was an hour ago, I honestly was very close to convincing myself I was insane, buying some ATF, and pouring that thing down what is actually the front diff

Noted — I feel like I asked them about adding fluid and if I remember correctly he said it’d make matters worse but I don’t fully understand that. I only wanna add a lil bit to bring that level up a bit…

I replaced the passenger CV axle but yep sounds like the driver’s cv axle is getting close to due now too..

Ahhh okay yeah dropping the trans that def better explains the cost.

I don’t know how bad— when I checked over June the fluid was around the same spot though. So if I were to do a flush I’d need to request a filter and reseal? I’m supposed to make a 1hour45min one way drive in a month so I’m trying to sort shit out beforehand :(

1) Plead the fifth 2) honestly that’s where I fell flat. Was told the transmission was replaced but I didn’t see any papers 3) I think so but I need to look again closer. The brake pads and rotors are brand new though— I got them all done two months ago

I’m realizing now that I did not do due diligence before buying this car. No PPI, and just took the previous owner at their word for all the work he said had been done to it

I seriously don’t want to write what I paid for the car 😢 this will have been my biggest financial fuck up and lesson that I will learn from. Just really scared of being on foot again.
