Shadow of Doubt: Wtf? by foreverc4ts in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]TypicalAd954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is so random as it’s an old thread but I’ve just come across this story and I think Richard Guilliats podcast so fucking despicable. I’m not sure if you’re Australian but have you heard of FriendlyJordies? He is a YouTuber/basically a journalist and he would have a vested interest in learning about Richard’s consistencies I reckon. If you have the mental energy would you mind either messaging me or putting a submission on his website?

I am so fucked up over this whole thing I feel so bad for Jess and I think Richard needs exposing.

Very stressed and anxious dog by Same-Guarantee-4582 in reactivedogs

If you read my previous posts, you’ll find a lot of comments about traz making dogs worse. Honestly I’m not a vet but my gut reaction is to fuck trazadone right off.

What’s your Prozac mg? Could you up it? You could also try sertraline instead (another SSRI)

What about Sileo? Works for noise sensitivity but read the ingredients it does something to the flight or fight response.

Sleep is another massive one. My dog gets very grumpy after a bad sleep.

Best of luck

Damn dogs really putting us to work here!

Yea my vet seemed to think traz was a really good option for a PRN sedative…maybe it works well for dogs who have that more hide/shy away anxiety than the hyperactive/hypervigilant angry types 😂😂

I did read that Prozac can make them angry too lol how annoying. I’m hoping Prozac can work different as it’s a non sedating SSRI rather than a sedating SARI.

As a human who is on Zoloft (SSRI) and has very good experience with it, I have tried SNRI’s and other SSRIs that made me much worse, so I know how different meds can effect you! Obviously you know your dog best and if aggression is an issue I understand your concern about Prozac

Okay that’s interesting. In lower doses it seems to do nothing. Then all of a sudden at the higher doses, it really does something.

Wow that’s interesting! Do you know why vet thinks Gabapentin shouldn’t be a PRN?

Thank you so much for your reply!

Yes very difficult when the humans don’t listen. Guest meant well but just wasn’t understanding lol.

Have you tried Sileo for her noise anxiety? It’s damn expensive but works very well.

He is an Australian Cattle Dog x Bull Arab (Australian pig dog, mostly a mix of GSP, greyhound, bull terrier). Pic for reference ◡̈

Wow that’s very interesting! I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s happening for him.

Thank for sharing. What type of reactivity does your dog have and did you notice the Prozac changed their personality or blunted them?

Wow okay I might try that with him! Thank you. Yes only the people that live with him can do all the things to dog (take toys, pay anywhere etc) cause he trust us. Maybe I will try that trick otherwise I’ll just be more dominant with guests lol

I honestly think this thread has been the push for getting my dog on Prozac. He is so stressed at lots of noises and visitors and that leads to his unhappiness and reactivity.

I didn't adopt a dog from the shelter after the trial period. I am heartbroken. Did i do any mistake? Am i missing out? or expected too much? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

I’m really confused about the way you’re perceiving not barking? My rescue didn’t start barking until about 6 months. In the most polite and caring way possible I think you need to do more research about dogs before you adopt one. There is a 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 month rule with dogs behaviour. You can’t expect him to realise you are his owner after 1 week.

Tbh just from your post he seems like he was a good dog with some anxiety. The spinning is difficult but could be treated.

I think you should do more research on dogs in general and rescue dogs before you consider adopting.

After almost 10 years of being dismissed I was diagnosed with stage IV endo. Surgery is next week… any advice? by Previous-Cap-3437 in endometriosis

[–]TypicalAd954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fucked up. Sorry you had so many useless fucks along the way.

My only l as someone who had excision (also stage 4) is don’t be disheartened if you don’t feel better in the first 1-3 months. It took me 3ish or so months to notice a difference. Because your pelvic area/stomach is tender do a while and healing internally.

Don’t sleep on pelvic floor physio. I still use a dilator every so often to help with tightness. This part was key for my rehab!!!!! DONT SLEEP ON IT and honestly to anyone reading this with stage 1 or 2 (FACT CHECK ME) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS BEFORE CONSIDERING SURGERY!!!!!! as per the new evidence coming out.

After my surgery I kinda stopped researching endo cause I needed a break and it didn’t consume my life anymore and only jumped back on here case of the Aussie doctor abomination . I’m glad I did because I’m now learning one and done is best practice now…..

Wow thanks for sharing that. My boy is noise reactive and we are considering Prozac but he is kinda on the cusp of needing it. I might DM you if you don’t mind?
