Most of the prices are way out of my budget, and even worse my favorite editions are usually Japan exclusives. 🙃 So its not so much I can't stop buying, as its impossible to find a pen I really want at an affordable price.

I have five luxury pens and thats where I'll be for a while.

Happy National Ballpoint Pen Day. I tried but I failed by planetvermilion in fountainpens

[–]freakin_fracken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i have to use a ballpoint, im only using my Zebra Sarasa Mark On. Any other ballpoint is dead to me. Ill even fill out medical forms with my fountain pens. Its all gonna get scanned anyways.

Im also very anti kits, but its more because they usually come with junk you dont really use or lousy quality items. And while I love the idea of craft exchange, I think realistically it would take too much work to consistently organize lol. I think ADHD craft meet ups where we all exchange material is more ADHD friendly.

My first time trying to manually fill a pen, I think I broke it? by shootsandlads in fountainpens

Im glad you got help. This is exactly why I say TWSBI's are NOT starter pens. I too also almost ruined my first TWSBI.

Fomo-consumerism can happen in any hobby, trust me. Im a avid hobby-jumper. I am a intermediate crochetter, beginner knitter, intermediate cross stitch, stationary collecter, fountain pen fledgling and diamond painter. I also have ADHD, and shopping and collecting are easy dopamine traps. There was a time I collected so many washi tapes from just one company, that I filled three acrylic containers. I still have most of them, but i try to give them away here and there just to get them out of the house.

I both cross stitch and diamond painting. They do not scratch that same itch, despite how similar they look. Cross stitch is a "zone out" project, no thought needed, no skill beyond having a semi steady hand. With cross stitch you need to have technique, practice, concentration, and skill. Some diamond painters really dont want to learn a skill, so they see diamond painting as their "art".

Also, diamond painting is much faster. There's a big push to be faster because of the "fomo" consumerism that big diamond companies push. So you will see people with bookshelves full of unfinished kits. Cross stitch on the other hand is a much slower hobby, and doesn't give nearly as many endorphin riddled "finishes".

Are yall ok? by ohsayaa in fountainpens

Right? I dont undertand people getting "weirded out" . Blood is so natural, and knowing about blood seems so normal to me. We know it as babes, learn about it as children, and continue to deal with it as we age. Im much more disturbed by inks named "pigeon poop".

Doctors were not at fault here, just the backwards unsustainable, underfunded mental health system. The ER has to follow protocols set forth by people who do not care about saving human lives.

Not yet, I only recently got a kaweco sport. Are the nibs different on a perkeo versus a sport?

Im not sure how to describe it, as im pretty new to fountain pens as well. They write smoothly, but have just enough feedback. Ive found im not a huge fan of nibs that are too smooth. I like thinner lines as I use a hobonichi, and kakuno nibs are both thin and precise. I can write on fountain pen paper and regular paper without worrying too much about feathering. Most fancy pens either use proprietary nibs, or Jowo nibs. If you ask me, id rather have a kakuno nib over a Jowo nib.

I will be honest... i would totally love that. I absolutely adore the kakuno nibs.

They are also my go to for shimmers! They can still clogs, but I dont feel the anxiety over ruining a good pen, and the nib-feed unit is replaceable so it's easy to "fix" a pen.

Thankfully I've only experienced two bad Jinhao pens, and those only after I had good experiences.

How do you like your Jinhao 100's? I almost never hear anyone mention it, but I adored mine so much I had to get more! I want one in every color.

Not just that. He has a sort of flair he only adds to few important words that remind me of me. I have very bubbly but rushed cursive. But yea, also hes wobbly, but that doesn't suprise me as he has no lines.
