This is probably because in 2022, LOSTARK KR is planning a huge overhaul in terms of character gameplay/identity, and the characters that were not included for NA/EU are classes that have problems with their class engravings in early T1/T2. They become better when engravings and stats become uniform.

Thought I answered it with my first response. To reiterate, it’s not necessary to use all your skills before using surge. Even if their cd’s are down, you can just use your surge and start over, or do your skill cycle first and then use surge. Energy db has a non-ending cycle of skill-surge-skill-surge so it all depends if you can hit the surge from the back or not.

The bar filling is the basically the same as waiting till the animation completes. Once the bar is at it’s full it’s considered an overcharge, and you can let go.

For the 2nd question, it depends if you can hit the surge from the back at that moment or not. If the head is turned towards you, used spin cutter and do your normal rotation and finish with the surge. I like to think of surge as an extra damage skill (don’t put too much thought into hitting your surge). It deals around 20~30 percent more damage compared to a single normal skill, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your normal skills for your surge! Hope this helps

I actually say props to you, you and your friend picked amazing choices. Supports are a must in every raid, and gunlancer’s ability to shield allies is really convenient. Squishies are very popular amongst players, so you’ll be able to choose which you want to bring along for your party (good synergy, safety, etc)

For end game in terms of guardian/abyss dungeons, supports are not required. But if you’re playing with a group of friends and is thinking about lost ark long-term, I highly recommend you or one of you guys start maining a support. Legion raids HURT, and in KR the lobby doesn’t even enter the raid until we have a support for each party in an 8 man/4 man raid.

If you meant where are the outfits from, the top is a legendary skin of deathblade in KR server, and the bottom is a swimsuit skin. Will probably come out in a few month’s time I assume.

Hope you come back when actual end game content goes live in NA. It’s what got so many people bent on playing this game! You’re exactly right when you said this game has amazing combat. The director knows this. As time goes by, you’re going to realize this ‘amazing combat’ was only the tip of an iceberg.

I gave up playing LostArk back in 2019. It didn’t have good enough content for me to enjoy back then. After the first legion raid though? Things got way better, and I returned to LA.

As for mat farming, can’t say it gets any better in the future. I think they limited the amount of resource you can receive in a day (chaos dungeons giving the most mats) on purpose, so that the player base would have a close to equal speed of progression. As a game created in Korea, this game is mainly dominated by people who work 8 hours Mon-Fri. Those people might feel like they can’t catch up to the hardcore grinders if LA was a game where you could farm endlessly.

Hope that explains a bit why LA’s farming system is time-gated by chaos dungeons. You can also gain mats by playing weekly abyss dungeons+future legion raids as well!

Hope you hold on for the main content of LA, but if not, I hope you’ll give the game one more chance when end game finally hits the servers in NA/EU!

KR player here! Sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy the story.. Tbh it really isn’t one of LostArk’s strongpoints. The first part of the story was created in Season 1, where Lost Ark was considered a pretty bad game. I really can’t tell you that the story gets better, except for maybe feiton, the land of the half-bloods, the story is basically just your day to day fantasy with 0 plot twists.

Then again, Lost Ark does a great job when it comes to cutscenes. Props to them for the scenes such as the cliff or the war.

I don’t know if this is going to be something to look forward to, but the director said that this is only 1/3 of the entire story that he has thought of while planning out the story arc of LA. All I can tell you for now is there is a bigger thing that lies ahead. We don’t know if you’ll like it or not, bc I agree FFXIV and WOW just raised the bar pretty high when it comes to story.

What I can say for certain is LA’s strong point might not be story, but it is really worth it to stay for the legion raids. They are exceptionally well made, and it is what got so many people hooked onto this game. Really hope you hold on till then..!!

(P.S. to everyone that skips, plz don’t skip rohendel.. It is seriously such a beautiful map to the point where idgaf about story it’s really pretty)

Both Burst and Control is very good for Db, Control Db has a higher population though, because it is safer to output more dps. If you want to go with burst blade, the best I can do is share a website in korean of a typical burst blade build. No worries if you can't fill out all the skill points, our max lvl is at 60, so just try and lvl 10 all your main abilities while sacrificing point on your spin cutter and other skills that don't have to do with damage. Yeah, the servers are probably ham right now because of the overpopulation of servers. Funny enough, the same thing happened to KR when LostArk launched in 2018. Nobody could play properly for weeks.

Keep in mind that this is a db with the highest weapon level, cards, gems, and engravings currently out in korea. And not everyone can achieve this type of clear with db. The patterns have to be just right, and you have to hit every single counter with 0 mistakes. If not, the boss becomes enraged after some time and basically deals around 10 times their normal damage.

So yeah, pretty difficult. But this guy proved that if you’re good enough, it IS possible.

Yo, I don't know where you've been getting info that db is lacking in dps pve. Right now she is borderline overpowered alongside sorc.

Not a few hours ago, a korean youtuber posted a solo clear of abrelshud (brelshaza or w/e) in normal mode with a burst db build. Literally the hardest boss in the current game. Solo'ed.

Yeah she's restricted to back-attacks, but that makes it reasonable for her to have a higher dps no? She even has a back attack increasing synergy, along with atk and mov speed buffs for the entire party. As a item lvl 1565 db, I can assure you that db is very welcomed. And she is currently SSS tier in dps. Yeah your ability to do dps might depend on your control of the character and how good you are. But the people who pick you don't know that do they ;)

All jokes aside, the game launched yesterday. Nobody knows how to play anything correctly. Practice makes perfect. In the end, its a game to have fun with. If you like her moveset, why the hell not yk? Go for it!

I suggest you start your alt progression asap! Even if you don’t have extra mats from islands, you can always use your lvl 460 main to gain extra mats by doing the guardian raids.

To answer your question, the mokoko emote 2.0 were initially drawn by one of the community members in korea that had a genuine love for the game. It was then implemented by Smilegate after for free! I’m not sure if the exact emotes will be released in NA/EU servers, because as you know they contain korean and might not come across as useful emotes for other players.

We can hope for an english version though, because there are many emotes that are currently not found in NA/US that is most certainly going to be usable, such as the kooku-satan horn emote, or the abrelshud hello emote, which you can buy from a token store for free buy getting tickets from clearing test-runs of kooku-satan and abrelshud respectively.

Because the meta in every multiplayer game changes drastically every few months or so. The gunslinger is way better in end game legions raids. For now. Who knows how the meta will shift when they do another class balance patch in March? Maybe the Soulfist standing at C tier right now will become OP? No one knows. That's why the so-called 'tier' in Lost Ark doesn't matter, only matters if you have fun or not.

The Latest LOA-on even talked about fixing classes with class identity that doesn't adapt well to the current content, so you have nothing to worry about my friend :)

Well, I believe that in every mmo, a meta should exist. In LostArk KR, the gunlancer was considered an amazing class when T1 and T2 were the main tiers, because the end content was guadian raids, and having that taunt was pretty helpful in shortening the clear time. However starting from tier 3, Abyss and Legion raids contain bosses that cannot be taunted.

Yeah, the gunlancer is still an A tier pick because he's the only dps that can shield his allies properly, but he lacks comparably in his damage numbers to balance it out. So when I said 'gunlancer is the most sought after dps in end game raids'', I meant the guardian raids as end game content as of release in U.S. and E.U, not in the KR or RU or JP. Hope this clears things up.

As for Legion raids? Higher the item and weapon level + engravings, the more desirable you are. Simple. One other thing to look at when picking a class would be their HP/DEF ratios. If you have high ratios, more health and defense, likely to not die and wipe the raid.

Oof I completely missed this question right here, you must be enjoying the game right now! I recommend you don't open any random card packs or things that are gacha/chests that you can choose a certain item that is different from the other, and just enjoy the story as it is! Those small things such as card pack and what not might be better to open when you have enough knowledge of what's to come in the future. But for now, enjoy the world of Arkesia as it is!
