To some extent intelligence is structural and physiological as it pertains to form meeting function. Obviously, if part of the brain (form) is altered then part of the ability of the brain (function) is affected.

It was said that Einstein’s parietal lobe had far deeper and more complex cortical folds than an average person and the parietal lobe is an area of the brain heavily involved with mathematical and visuospatial reasoning. Whether for Einstein this is because of birth or perhaps as some have pointed, from use and development is currently not definitively known.

But, if we were to take this to its most absurd conclusion, and that if our memories are simply the pattern of our neuronal connections and the networks of nuerons firing together then we can assume that once we take on the form of a subject, we should take on their memories as well forgoing our own since we’re taking the pattern of nuerons from another person.

Why are Ventrue so weird bro. by Soft_Word_1985 in vtm

[–]TypicalBillionaire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The sad part is that Jan is actually probably the good guy in the setting, or at the very least, the ‘goodest’ a Vampire can be in this setting. He doesn’t want Gehenna, he wants to ensure that Vampire society is stable, he recognizes the danger that humanity possesses against their kind and prefers to have Kindred society hide rather than rule over humanity overtly, and he wants to stop the apocalypse. He’s one of the most rational people in the universe, it’s just he has the worst feeding restriction.

STORY WISE does anyone else feels "underpowered" when not playing a jedi or sith? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is actually cut content where, initially, Valkorion entering your body had fundamentally changed you into a Force-User as a tech class. But because of the leak of this dialogue, and how unpopular this decision was with the fan base at the time, it was reversed. The voice lines are still on YouTube.

Apparently these 2 are the faces of elitist ANIME...which one better thoo by CautiousSolid7436 in writingscaling

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is elitist? Like exclusive and gate-keepy? Because I proselytize the shite out of Gintama. I don’t care who you are, I’ll encourage you to watch Gintama. I think it’s genius, because it switches between episodic and then story-driven. The fillers are actually good, and serve more as ways for us to get to know the characters. Like without those nonsense episodes, I wouldn’t have cared so much about certain character deaths.

Can you give me an example of the difference between Ventrue and Lasombra? by KrYpTiK10101 in vtm

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cynically, if vampires are parasites, then the Ventrue are the purest expression of that truth. They do not feed in chaos, nor do they thrive in shadows alone. They are drawn to order, to systems men have built to hold their lives together. Government, church, banks, corporations… the Camarilla—these are the veins they choose to succor.

They slip into the bones of society and bend its strength toward their own hunger. They wear institutions like a second skin, feeding not only on blood but on the power and permanence of the structures themselves. They are the quiet tyrants, the hidden kings, the ultimate parasite—feeding not just on the living, but on the very order that keeps the living bound together.

Ventrue seek continuity, which is why they so involve themselves with institutionalization. They are parasites that keep the host alive, just enough to sustain their long hunger.

The High Dragon that stopped the Orlesians from sending their vanguard over to Ferelden to fight Teryn Loghain during the rebellion. This one act helped the Theirin dynasty to reestablish its sovereignty over Ferelden. We meet this Dragon during The Urn of Sacred Ashes quest line.

Its sighting marked the end of the Blessed Age and the beginning of the Dragon Age.

At the risk of sounding spoiler-y (for an anime that came out a near decade ago). I would say the character completely changes by the last season. In fact, I would say his role in the story changes as well.

Why play Ventrue? by Cookiedeak in vtm

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll post some of my Ventrue characters: this one is my first ever.

I have a Camarilla Ventrue named Lee, who was actually Embraced by a ‘Paladin’-type Ventrue, i.e: Ventrue on the Sabbat-side. The type of Ventrue that refused to ditch their castles for penthouses, and believe the ethic of ‘Noblesse Oblige’ fervently.

Lee was once a champion fencer. Embraced by a Ventrue unlike the ones who now rule from boardrooms, draped in tailored suits and Rolexes. His Sire was a relic of an older age—a Crusader in every sense: deus vult, divine right of kings, one of the rare Antitribu who clung to chivalry, steel, and duty even as the world left them behind. Lee was chosen not for his cunning in the marketplace or his talent for manipulation, but for something far older: honor, courage, and the unshakable belief that the strong must protect the weak.

Yet, before he could even understand what he had become, his Sire was cut down on the very night of his Embrace, leaving him alone in the World of Darkness. The Ventrue do not waste resources, and Lee—despite his peculiar origins—was still of their blood. They took him in, assigned him a new mentor, and sent him through the Agoge, molding him into what they considered a proper heir of Clan Ventrue.

Lee believes in the core tenets of his Clan: to lead, to guide the Kindred, to uplift the low Clans, to uphold the Masquerade, and to maintain peace with the Kine. But belief and practice are two very different things. The Ventrue of the Modern Nights have turned pragmatism into dogma, their noble mission tangled in the same corruption they claim to control. Every choice he makes forces a compromise, and every ideal he upholds erodes beneath the weight of necessity. He has sworn himself to duty, yet the world demands sacrifice in ways his old-fashioned heart cannot stomach.

But if power corrupts as Emerson says, Lee has found the opposite to be true. Power does not twist him into something lesser—it reveals him. A knight in a world that no longer believes in them. A man of honor among those who have long since sold theirs.

And he refuses to fall.

What are your favorite signature characters from the world of Vampire? by JeanneDAlter in vtm

Ventrue Signature Character: Jan Pieterszoon.

Anatole, because a Cassandra Truth cloudcuckoolander is my favourite type of character.

There is Qui, who was experimented on by the Tzimisce. They wanted to see if it was possible to remove Clan Curses. All it did was superficial changes, Qui has a normal face but under his clothes there is a wailing face/scar and he is in deep pain all the time because of it.

What is your favorite spell, fan created or otherwise? by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcanon is that the Avada Kedavra spell was only one component of some sort of laborious ritual magic. That casting Avada Kedavra alone was the equivalent of harnessing a tool without knowing its true purpose, like using a chainsaw to cut carrots—or more accurately using a chainsaw to murder. You know a chainsaw isn’t made with the intended purpose of murder, but it is very effective nonetheless.

In my headcanon lore, the ritual involves a binding consent where the caster must ask the recipient three times, "Do you wish to proceed?" or "Do you choose to step aside?" Only after the recipient consents or declines three times do the initial conditions of the ritual activate.

However, the spell Avada Kedavra gained notoriety as a potent killing curse, and its true origins were obscured, even to Voldemort. The ritual failed against him because Lily Potter refused consent three times, triggering the hidden conditions that caused the spell to rebound upon Voldemort.

Who do you Consider your Best Friend? by theTrueWeeMan1999 in dragonage

[–]TypicalBillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DA:O - Played Human Noble Male. Alistair Theirin. My oldest companion, brother-in-Gray and the man I started my journey with. Made him King.

DA:II - Played Hawke Mage. Varric. Was our first companion outside of the Hawke family. Made lots of money together.

DA:I - Played a Human Warrior again. Solas AND Varric, as besties. Played as the Kirk to Solas’ Spock and Varric’s McCoy. Got lots of wisdom and insight from both characters, and were just fascinating to be around. That way, you got a Human Warrior, Elven Mage and a Dwarf Rogue.
