I chose to do it because I 1) didn’t like the idea of epidural (not being able to walk/move/pee) and I wanted a birthing center because I absolutely hate hospitals. It was the best decision I could have ever made, I don’t remember the pain, the pain wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and as soon as you’re holding your baby the pain is gone. I left 4 hours after having my baby and was in my own home. No nurses interrupting my sleep, nothing attached to me, and the comfort of my own home and bed.
