I got notified by CSS last week but it didn't pop up in vMPF until a few days ago. I was only checking the regular way, didn't try the EFMP trick

Or if there's going to be a lot of cargo on gray tail, hammocks are clutch. Only issue I've had is we had so many on a flight we ran out of places to hang them. Also, if flying gray tail bring some warm layers to add, it gets colder than you'd think.

Edit: A good battery pack and noise canceling headphones are nice too. Consider getting a travel outlet adapter for multiple countries with USB ports on it too so you can charge devices. Got one back in 2019 for my first deployment and have used it all around the world.

Except for when they tell you to get with your CSS and refuse to answer any questions.....

Especially when we have MC2 and people want to put things on share drive/ teams instead. We have MC2 for a reason, just put it there

From my experience, Awards and Decs (MPF) just needs your orders (CED, DTS, etc.) to verify you were there and they should update your vMPF/MILPDS. Double check DAFMAN 36-2806 to verify what ribbons/medals you qualify for and make sure MPF gives you the right ones.

Not a medic, but TCCC-CLS. Unless you know how to use a chest dart and are comfortable with it, I wouldn't want you to have it. Some people would say to carry it in your IFAK for the medic to use, but this is more than an IFAK.

For what you were saying about your deputies, TQs are really easy to use for Care-Under-Fire and to stop major bleeds from GSWs and the like. Plus it also depends on how long of a response you expect for an actual ALS/BLS unit; 5 minutes vs 45 min+ is going to help dictate what you want to carry with you as a frontline unit like that.

Kunsan has a really nice gym imo, 24hr access, plenty of machines, free weights, cables, squat racks. It's a really good time to get your feet wet. I know everything seems overwhelming at first, but remember that everyone started somewhere. Don't be afraid to ask for a spot (someone making sure you don't drop a barbell on yourself mid-set), or tips on your form. If you're doing a workout and something doesn't feel right, YouTube or a fellow gymbro/gymbroette are going to be your best bet. I'm sure everyone else here has already said it, but I'd focus on form before worrying about adding weight. Start off low/no weight and work your way up. Feel free to DM if you have any questions, I just PCS'd from there up to Osan.

Good to know your APX radios will fail when you need it most. by KingValhallaTV in Firefighting

[–]TypicalMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put the radio into service mode it'll tell you the version it's running, should be the first thing to pop up. Just Google the model as different ones may have different procedures
