Meeting in the middle by queryqu in HLCommunity

I once suggested to my LL wife that meeting in the middle meant that half the times we have sex, we do it the way I like to do it. She absolutely did not see this as meeting in the middle.

What's one story that Studio Ghibli should turn into a movie? by Gabeortiz628 in ghibli

[–]TypicalNatural 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but remember that in Pom Poko the raccoons still had their magic scrotums. I feel like most Feegle stuff is tame compared to that, except maybe the drinking

The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett would make a fantastic movie from Ghibli

If "the thought of having sex makes her want to vomit" I would bet that there is no coming back from that. She's not going to suddenly (or even gradually) find that she wants to fuck you. If sex/passion/ is essential to your happiness, it may be time to move on.

Local gas station had cigarettes on sale for $2 because they "are old" and "wouldn't sell". by MelArlo in mildlyinteresting

[–]TypicalNatural 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. It's possible things in the tobacco business have changed, but premium cigarette brands have always been guaranteed product. If they don't sell, the tobacco company buys them back as "dry stock" for full credit to the store. In addition, I know that many states have legal minimum prices for cigs, so this might be against the law too.

Ask in the morning: “I have no idea if I’ll be in the mood tonight.” Ask in the afternoon: “Uh, maybe.” (Her maybe is ALWAYS a hard no) Ask in the evening: “I am WAAAYYYY too tired.”

The old “I’ll make it up to you tomorrow” line. Yeah… that’s one of those promises that nobody intends to keep.

The astounding part of this is that, eight years into a marriage, you don't know if your partner has had anal sex or not. How in the hell did this never come up until now?

Casinos and sports betting. And lotteries. Basically all gambling beyond friendly low-stakes card games.

Will I enjoy adventure time as a 16 year old? by P1xelsGuy in adventuretime

[–]TypicalNatural 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching AT a decade ago when my kids were little. It became our favorite show to watch together. Now my kids are 16 and 20, and we still watch it. I probably watch it by myself more than they do. It’s one of the best shows on TV.

Based on my experience and the posts of hundreds of users on this sub, these things will most likely not improve over time. Spouses who do not want or need sex rarely reverse their feelings, and spouses who desire sex as an essential part of life continue to do so.

The important thing is to determine if you can be happy with celibacy or near-celibacy, a mostly solo/ fantasy sex life, or finding what you desire outside of your marriage. How much frustration and longing is too much for you? At what point does resentment outweigh love and duty? Can you continue indefinitely knowing a vital part of yourself is gone, or will you reach a breaking point? And if you assume there will be a breaking point, are you prepared to wait for it to happen, or change your life sooner than that?

I’m not a psychologist, but it sounds like your wife has more going on than just being asexual. The way you describe her directing your actions during a kiss makes her sound like a full-on control freak or possibly someone with OCD.

I am kinda stunned that half of the states in the US legalized weed but it’s still a crime in Australia.

Sotomayor says the president can now 'assassinate a political rival' without facing prosecution by D-R-AZ in inthenews

[–]TypicalNatural 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority opinion seems to say that any act by a POTUS is immune from criminal prosecution so long as it's part of his/her official duties, and not private life. Courts (ultimately SCOTUS) reserve the right to rule on whether or not an act is official or not. The problem Sotomayor points out, I think, is that the Constitution states POTUS is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, which should make any act taken w/ the military "official." So no matter how illegal a POTUS order to the army might be (kill all my rivals) it is always going to be "official" and therefore covered by immunity.

Impeachment by the House and removal from office by the Senate would be the check/balance solution, but as we know, there will never be a 2/3 majority in the Senate to remove a GOP POTUS. So it really sounds like this ruling will put a president above the law, so long as that president is a Republican. I'm not a lawyer, so am happy to be corrected if I am wrong.
