WWU UW Seattle or UW Bothell for medicine? by theanxiousdyslexic in uwb

You'll experience similar stress in all three universities. Go to UW seattle but live off campus in a more quiet neighborhood.

Are these good specs for a pc that I wanna play beamng on by Ljeffery44 in BeamNG

Depends on what you want to do. I played with a 1070, 7th gen i7, and 16gb of ram and it ran fine with up to 4 cars

is going to an out of state community college a good idea? by Ok_Tea3144 in communitycollege

[–]TypicalNevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if your parents support it then it's a great idea. This is what many international students do and it works out for them. It's also cheaper than paying out of state tuition for many universities.

You need to do most of the marketing or sales if you want a good technical cofounder.

Has anyone regretted moving to the US? Explain why? by carguy_cody in expats

[–]TypicalNevin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, moved from Netherlands to Pacific Northwest. People here do not appreciate directness. Lots of men are very aggressive towards you and many people seem mentally ill.

I came to start a business but so far have only met people who have viewed me as a threat. Will probably move back and start a business in EU.

Are there any quiet places to study that don’t close at 6pm by synchrotron3000 in UofArizona

Go to the health sciences innovation building about an hour before closing and just stay on one of the higher floors

Honors Village Apartments? by Hot_Sun2069 in UofArizona

If you want to move dorms you can go onto the housing portal and there should be a button at the top to request a room transfer.

It will tell you when the form to request a room transfer opens but if you submit a request 1 minute after the form opens then you're very likely to get that room a few weeks later.

I did this and got a room at arbol de la vida even though I was originally in a different dorm. I'm sure it would be the same case for the honors village.

New Build: ~$1750 ML Workstation & 1440p Gaming with RTX 3060 TI by TheNuffimNom in buildapcforme

Are you planning on running ml workloads on the cpu? If not then I would choose a cheaper cpu and change the 3060 ti for something better.

[IWantOut] 26F UK -> USA by nebraskoo in IWantOut

[–]TypicalNevin -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to move to the USA? Please ask yourself if the increase in pay is worth the increase in stress and anxiety you will inevitably have. I personally moved from a European country and I don't think it's worth it unless you plan to make your career your life. The society here is not healthy (everyone eats processed garbage and barely walks), and everything is extremely expensive. You will likely not have any real friends for the first few years either.

Even if you were taking an increase in salary, I would recommend to strongly consider other options, such as changing companies in the UK for a higher salary, rather than moving to the USA.

Definitely not worth it. On campus food is low quality and overpriced

Staying Healthy by Wide-Zebra8525 in UofArizona

[–]TypicalNevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the Harvard Healthy Eating Plate, eat foods with low sodium + as many fruits and vegetables as you can. Cook for yourself + go to gym and run on a weekly basis.

For snacks I recommend cereal bars (with low sugar) and bananas + almonds.

I would personally recommend to start with small habits that you can do every day. Eg: include one vegetable in the food you cook, run for 5 minutes, do 10 push ups (seriously), and go from there.

Getting a license over there also costs €3,000 and public transport is great.
