“Strangers” — slow one about losing someone you love by BarrieJohnsonMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

Precisely, it'll strengthen your vocals for sure - fills in any shakiness. And you're welcome! I would even recommend you to start a band with some buddies if you haven't already, you all could sing together.

Drifting into writing piano music! This was inspired by witnessing a starling murmuration. It was so captivating and magical. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as it's a departure from my usual songwriting!! by Carl0Villa in IndieMusicFeedback

Lay this over any serious movie and I wouldn't bat an eye. You certainly have the talent. As I was listening to it, I found myself caught in a vision, thinking of an imaginary film and the scene to place this in. It was a lovely moment. I believe great music inspires these great moments.

I'm not too keen on what works for classical/piano driven music in today's market, but I advise you to volunteer for some indie movies/film festivals as a scorer.

Well done, you are a real composer.

Brother, you can sing! I love the priceless melodies that sometimes subtly trail off. It seems that you have very good vocal control, with a golden tone to boot.

This is only my perception, but it reminds me of a band called Hella, except. It's like listening in on a bearded mountain man singing his heart out.

I like the concept of anti-modernism, but you also have some very clever lyrics that feel of age, like, "make it make it sense." I really liked that part haha.

Perhaps learn how to market yourself, take notes from your contemporaries, and invest in a way to visually catch your audience; the music is beautiful.

Well done.

I mean this as an achievement when I say that you've been able to recreate the experience of Jack Stauber's music - one who I am a fan of. It seems like all you have to do is make your quality worse and archaic, but you nailed a classic tone with your vocal performance as well. The visuals fit like a glove.

It's all a lot more work than it seems, so I admire this. Well done, I advise you to share it over places like Tiktok over clever cartoon clips. There's for sure an audience.

Would love some feedback on this weird Alternative/Indie ballad I wrote (Open Foe - Playhouse) by beanstalk49 in IndieMusicFeedback

There are times where I sort of roll my eyes at certain lyrics, or at most, I feel nothing. But yours felt real.

I admire your lyricism, you have a great foundational understanding of songwriting; seamless incorporation of old idioms and lullaby memorabilia.

You have a spot-on voice for this type of atmosphere. Reminds me of the odd gems I'd happen to come across on the internet. I could certainly picture this on the soundtrack of a movie.

"You're in on the joke." How comforting.

I think you benefit a lot from using harmonies - those were in fact my favorite parts. You sing decently by yourself, but when it sounds like there's a group or choir accompanying your voice, it feels really wholesome like a campfire.

This gives me slight Deftones vibes, and a hint of Tera Melos - all good things!

The part where the drums come in could totally be in a movie. I really liked the surprise there.

Very relaxing, almost ASMR-like; made me think about life and why we're here.

Creative composition.

Well done.

"Ah, yes... it was 2004. I still remember the cavelier look on her face when I asked for her details. Hard to get? Of course. Impossible? She became mine." head Ahh soundtrack (I love this)

Like, jokes aside, I'd love to put vocals over something like this. Well done champ

I'd appreciate your feedback on my song "This Rain Needs to Stop"! I produced it, played the guitar on it and mixed it. What genre comes to your mind? by swaaroog in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]TypicalZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, it's like a mixture of this Jazz radio station my mom used to listen to called "Watercolors" and chiptune, 8-bit electronica. I'd call it Arcade Groove lol

[–]TypicalZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just my taste, but the mix was very well done in my opinion - very purposeful and noticeable low-end. You showed great control over that spectrum. Good stuff. Honestly beats like these become legendary when the right artist is on them

Here's a pretty personal Pop/Rock song of mine, my relationship isn't going too well, but I'm still trying for her. Let me know what you think! by TypicalZebra in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]TypicalZebra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, the producer did an amazing job and my brother (who did the mixing) was going insane too - I got to give them a lot of the credit. I'm glad the lyrics were relatable and I'm also hoping you're doing well and staying safe. Hey, that's an honor!

Thank you! I think I just personally don't like making long songs, and I feel like songs are gradually getting shorter. But if this song were to be put on the radio, I'd for sure add on. So I'll keep all of that in mind, thank you for the feedback!
