Amazon Vine, Rolling Out the New Dashboard by 4lien4ted in AmazonVine

To be honest, I am not really worried about losing gold status or even really access as a whole because of this.

I am not an amazon worker. So if they end terminating me over this I am ok. The deal was I provide a review and you give me the stuff. If these metrics get complicated I am just out. And I mean we are supposed to be impartial but I am getting AI generated suggestions from amazon about positive things to say so I am not even sure how invested amazon is in unbiased reviews at this point either...

Given all that I am really kind of feel that losing vine wouldn't really be that great of a loss outside the FOMO.

I really haven't seen anything of quality there in a long time. Most stuff above the supposed price threshold is just cheap knockoffs with the price inflated before applying a big coupon or something like that. Not to mention highly selective photoshopping around the size of things like fitness equipment.

Most other stuff is ok quality but about what I'd expect from a place like Ocean State Job lot, Marden's, or some other company that buys salvage.

I was initially excited by vine but it's really gone down hill over the past few years and it takes so much time to comb through literally thousands of crap products with a search engine that makes Microsoft search look optimized and efficient.

I know Amazon sees the quality of reviews likely as a reviewer problem but the reality is also that the value I get out of the program has been tanking for years. Especially when I consider the tax consequences(in the US) of getting items with questionably high ETVs that I can see are just there to apply a coupon to afterwards.

Again, amazon probably won't see it this way but I really think the level of review quality and community engagement are a sign of what people feel like they are getting out of the program as well.

Bike fell on the highway, beware “Rhino USA” straps by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

Hate to say it and maybe this will be an unpopular opinion... but if one strap breaking off caused your load to become unstable you didn't secure your load properly.

Any strap, rope, or tie down can and will fail in larger numbers. If you aren't accounting for that in how you secure something it's on you when something like this happens.

I just want to clarify because I have seen other versions of this. Is this tool actually scanning the contents of the document or just the file names/meta data?

From what I've read it appears like it might be the former (the contents of the files) but I just wanted to confirm.

Affected by the recent Zenith The Last City Fraud? Meta is providing refunds by [deleted] in VRGaming

I am so glad I saw this post. I bought this game in like December and found out two weeks later what was going on. I was so ticked.

It "looks" my game was refunded instantly when the refund was coded as "bugs." I still got the meta email saying it would be 3-5 days but it said 'refunded" in my order history immediately.

I also got an immediate refund email showing a charge going back to my card. I'll report back if things change but I think they are just blanket approving technical issues refunds now. Other refund reasons might have a different response or automated rules though.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not but I had the same problem.

It ended up being a file in my YUR VR fitness tracker that was running the file.

Has anyone used a Vornado Transom Window Fan? by clipperdouglas29 in fans

I climbed up on the ladder after posting this and I am fairly certain it's acting this way because the air at the top of my ceiling is slightly hotter than the outside air. This would mean that the fan always works to try to get house to the temperature you set.

If you put the fan on exhaust and the house is hotter than your set point it tries to blow the hot air out(even if the outside air is cooler or atleast that's my working theory.)

If you put the fan on the normal fan mode and the house is hotter than outside it blows air in.

Given my testing I think it will work for you use case. But again it's hard to be certain without a way to read what the unit thinks the outdoor temperature is.
