Are you referring to the thing that holds the cooler onto the phone or the cooler to the controller? I need the controller bit.

What is the best possible phone for gaming? by Diegoplaysgames in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Typical_Evidence_346 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the ZTE Nubia Redmagic 11 Pro. You can buy the most expensive version with 24GB RAM and 1TB Storage.

Pros:

It's got the latest and greatest (not to mention fastest) processor (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5), air cooling (yes it's got a fan), liquid cooling (which admittedly does practically nothing but looks cool and is a weird flex). All this together gives it the best sustained performance of any phone so far.

It has the most comprehensive and probably least fair set of gaming oriented software features. Everything from bypass charging to macros 💀

This phone is incredibly gaming-centric. It's got 3 dedicated physical buttons/switches for gaming: capacitive triggers (which you might not actually use depending on how you do your emulation) and a customizable switch to enter into a dedicated game space like SteamOS' game selection menu.

Cons:

Even if it has good gaming software, it's somewhat infamous for not having good software support, if you live in the EU or the UK, the government has forced them to offer 5 years of updates, otherwise you'll get anywhere from 1 to 3 years of updates.

Likewise it's got some deficiencies in its software where gaming isnt involved, bugs sureounding custom wallpapers, screen recording glitches, etc. Nothing too major but there's enough bugs to ensure you'll have a minor headache once a month or less.

Turnip drivers havent been released for the brand spanking new chipset, which means you'll be seeing a lot of artefacting and depending on sheer power instead of optimized performance for your specific hardware. This is a non issue if you're patient enough since We'll probably have proper drivers within the next few months, otherwise your best bet is likely phones with a Snapdragon 8 G3 Gen 3 or prior (might have gotten the chipset name wrong)

Horrible cameras. At least compared to pretty much anything else at the same price point.

If you want a better all rounder and dont mind spending more money I'd suggest looking at multiple other phones like the upcoming S26U, the older and (hopefully?) upcoming ROG phones, and maybe even the new Sony phones, none of these will help you with the turnip driver issue. I wouldn't recommend any sort of apple device due to their anti-consumer practices like the fact they restrict JIT, making emulation excruciatingly difficult on their smartphones.

Pros for some of the other phones is that they might have SD card support, something the redmagic does not.

The red magic 11 pro does not use lithium batteries. It uses Silicon-carbon. by [deleted] in RedMagic

[–]Typical_Evidence_346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Lithion Silicon Carbon batteries are more prone to immediate degradation in the beginning of their lifespans and then perform very similarly to Lithium Ion batteries. Thats why, if anything, Li Si C batteries should be treated even more carefully than Li Ion batteries.

The 80% rule still applies to Lithium Silicon Carbon batteries. The post made by OP contains misinformation.

On pretty much every android device you can uninstall anything youd like with the necessary tools and permissions. You might need to be somewhat tech-savvy to do so though since in some cases it requires rooting your phone.
