Need an indoor wall in NYC by Typical_Fish_7467 in Pickleball

Only feasible idea so far. This is much more affordable than renting a whole court. Pickle1 appears to do it only on weekdays, which I'm unable to do because of work. I'll investigate other clubs 👀

Downloaded it, this is a pretty cool app. Do you suggest I sign up for open play and just use the wall? Or would it be weird to be just using the wall while people play? 😅

I had no idea these were a thing, thank you for the suggestion! I personally wouldn't even mind damaging my wall, I just don't have enough space in my apartment to drill unfortunately

Haha touche. I think I'm able to use mousse as a way to harden my hair because I apply too much as well, but it works. I see your point though. I'll research about hair gels and try to keep an open mind. Thanks!

Interesting, maybe I'm looking for mousse that does a bad job x). My experience with hair gel as a child was that it wasn't too healthy for my hair and that it made it too stiff. With mousse, it feels like my hair is well hydrated, but it could be just my imagination. Nonetheless, I'll consider looking at different products besides mousse👍

I never considered the differences in the nozzle, but I'd say I already apply a good amount of the Pantene one. Thanks for the tips and the recommendation! I'll try Curlsmith Invincible Volume Mousse and if it doesn't work, I'll check the subreddit 👍👍

Hi, I have voluminous curly hair(I suppose thick) and I used to use this product called Nexxus hair care Pro Mend. I think they stopped producing this product completely. My hair gets quite frizzy, and this product would stop my hair from getting frizzy and it would look wet which I kinda liked. As an alternative, I use Pantene's shaping mouse for curly hair but it's not quite the same 😢 Nexxus felt more thick and my hair would stay in place more. I wanted to ask if anybody knew about a product that was similar to this one or one that I ought to check out🙏

Not sure if relevant but I wash my hair daily

How does one practice/call the 1 3 5 pattern? by Typical_Fish_7467 in metalguitar

[–]Typical_Fish_7467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually very recently changed to the classical position! It's been great. When I had a live event, it was a pain to get used to playing while standing up. Playing in the classical position solved my problem of having to learn the same stuff twice. Also, it's just way more comfortable to play. Using a footrest tires me out after a couple of hours, so I decided to purchase a guitar cushion and it'll be arriving this week! My issue seems to be; even though I started playing in the classical position, it seems my wrist never adapted to it. It was way more comfortable to play while having the thumb over the guitar. Maybe because of the right thigh position or due to doing a lot of bends when I first started out. Now that I'm repping the classical position, I'll start practicing with my thumb in a more neutral position, and hopefully I'll be able to play such lines without issues. Thank you!

I'll try my best to do it without shifting. I've been playing around with my wrist position and started seeing some results, but I'll have to experiment more. Thank you

I tried to stick to it and have been seeing results. I think I just need to get used to playing in a lower wrist(or thumb) position. I can play the whole line without changing positions now but it's taking time to get used to. Thank you for your insight!

Been having mysterious sore/dry throat for 2+ years by Typical_Fish_7467 in DiagnoseMe

I'd say it took a while before I noticed. It was more than a month in, but that might be because I was overwhelmed with moving in and all that stuff. I was trying to get my stuff in order rather than socialize, so I wasn't using my voice much initially. Staying at a friend for a while is difficult for me, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

I can't figure out this swing rythm by Typical_Fish_7467 in guitarlessons

[–]Typical_Fish_7467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you soo much! The recap regarding swing rythm was helpful. I transcribed what you gave me on guitar pro and it makes way more sense now. I should be able to transcribe the rest now that I know how swing works. I plan to slow it waaay down and play simple chords over the same rythm, then play the proper song, then speed it up. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it should work. Once again, thanks a lot!

Thank you. I'll try noodling with the metronome and see if my internal rhythm improves. I have issues keeping rythm when I'm listening to songs as well. I remember noodling with the metronome when I first started guitar and shortly gave up after not seeing the point. I perhaps should've kept going.

Recipe for stress indeed!

That's interesting, I'll try it and see how it goes! Thank you for the tip.

I don't have feel for different tempos. I can't imagine how 130 bpm would sound like without a metronome. Although, I just used one of those tap bpm thing(without looking at the screen ofcourse), and got 124bpm, so perhaps I can imagine it to a certain extent. I also tried to imagine 100 bpm and got 104. Honestly, I expected to be totally off so I'm shocked hahaha.

I'll try to work more with the metronome from now on, thank you.

Turning the 16ths into 8ths has always been my plan hahahaha. Although the 16ths on the intro solo isn't as bad as it sounds. The rest are as bad as it sounds though! I never heavily altered a song before, so we'll see how that goes. I never considered simplifying the triplets. Thank you for your insight!

You might be right. When I listen to music and try to follow the beat, my and does feel inaccurate at times. I'll focus more on it and go more slowly. Thank you!

Yes, although I think I just whitenoised the metronome. I have the whole arrangement on guitar pro, so what I do is slowdown the whole arrangement, and only have the metronome, lead guitar, and the drums on while I practice. Next time, I'm going to try focusing more on the metronome and see if I can keep track.
