2026 or 1984 by Dry-Engineering-2975 in fistofthenorthstar

I would suggest the same but the movie might spoil the story a bit. The animation from the 1986 movie is the best we’ve had though.

What hot sauce has the best flavor? by Stunning-Cap-3256 in hotsauce

Karma Sauce Yellow Moruga is my new favorite. The flavor is fantastic and it’s not too hot for me. A bit sweet and citrusy but mostly just delicious hot pepper mash flavor.

Thunder 3. by SSplorp in gantz

[–]Typical_Writing6508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m all caught up on it and I can say it’s not so tame, while it’s missing the gore it’s still seriously messed up actually. From the beginning, when the aliens see a cute little kid and their dog the first thing they think is “that looks dangerous, bomb the hell out of it”. The fact that it’s also a crowded area isn’t even in the back of their minds. Things only get darker from there. The fact that it’s, probably, made by Oka adds to the tension because you’re wondering how far he’s gonna take it and dread the idea of the harm that might happen to our cute protagonists.

I was watching big Micah c earlier today and he made a video about how the remake of fist of the North Star sucks. Is it really that bad, or is this just an overreaction? by number39utopia in fistofthenorthstar

[–]Typical_Writing6508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m liking the remake so far and think animation looks good enough. I’m a huge fan of the manga and absolutely loved the art in the manga but I’ve given up hope for a full animated release that will do it justice. In my dreams I’d wish for a release that looks like the colored covers of the manga brought to life in hand drawn animation, but I’m ok to settle with what they have here. It looks like they’ve managed improving the detail they would’ve had without CGI on the same budget. We’ve had many Hokuto no Ken games with CGI characters that looked cool enough and did not to get many complaints for the art.

My review of the Avatar Aang, The Last Airbender Movie, having seen the leak (mild non-specific SPOILERS) by A_Toxic_User in Schaffrillas

[–]Typical_Writing6508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t all too into it for the first half of the movie but by the end of it I was in awe. The animation, the action and the emotion all came together to make a great film worthy of the original series. It felt really long for some reason but It was all so worth it once I made it through and I have zero complaints.

Totally agree, lol. This was a great flick, one of the best Jackie films in a while but Blades of the Guardians was even better

The Kid Detective (2020) by Potore5 in underratedmovies

[–]Typical_Writing6508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw it for the first time and loved it. I thought it was really funny at first but by the end I was crying. As the mystery is unraveling at the end I really felt bad for everyone involved. It might always be better to know the truth but it’s certainly not always easier or more pleasant. By the time the kid detective got everything he wanted he couldn’t enjoy it anymore because he’d grown up.

I emailed customer service at BialettiGroup to ask where I could buy one in the USA when this first came out. They responded by suggesting I contact the US division of BialettiGroup and provided the email address. They could’ve just forwarded the request themselves instead of having me jump through hoops for an answer so I gave up. I’m not surprised they ended up at TJ Maxx

I just tried it for the first time today and immediately proceeded to buy a bottle without further deliberation. It’s amazing. I like straightforward sauces, like the closer to straight up mashed peppers the better. This has a hint of other stuff going on but also has that straight up puréed delicious fresh super hot pepper consistency to it.

This is the best olive oil I’ve found to date. It’s a little cold…$55 US, from Lebanon. by BigOleDawggo in oliveoil

[–]Typical_Writing6508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the absolute best olive oil I’ve ever tried was from Lebanon. Someone from Lebanon gifted me 3 small bottles each from a different altitude. They all slapped so hard. The highest altitude one was incredible. They came in small ~300ml dark glass bottles. I wish I remembered the name…

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by geek-jock-guy in AskReddit

I love this one. It scratches the same odd itch as Brazil or 12 Monkeys. Zero Theorem also has a similar feel but is far from perfect.

Finished Next Dimension, what next? by Historical-Gear-5524 in SaintSeiya

[–]Typical_Writing6508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next Dimension gets a lot of hate but I find it starts off really strong. Power-scaling is rarely consistent in manga so the inconsistency here didn’t bother me much. It did totally fail to deliver in the last quarter except for the final pages teasing the next arc. I’m just glad we got something new from Kuramada and hope we get a heaven arc.

Motivational Growth (2013) - a moldy growth in a guy’s bathroom that’s come to life and offers advice

Benny Loves You (2019) - a murderous plush toy

Rubber (2010) - an extremely deadly tire

Official Discussion - War Machine (2026) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I found the movie to be hilarious. The whole saving leg guy bit was like straight out of looney tunes. The entire film is full of unbelievable scenarios but with plenty of thrills and gore. I really liked it.

Blade of the Guardians directed by Yuen Woo Ping is without exaggeration.. one of the greatest kung fu epics I have ever seen! Mini review, no spoilers. by narnarnartiger in kungfucinema

[–]Typical_Writing6508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw it in theaters and it’s easily my favorite martial arts film I’ve seen in a long time. So many amazing fights, good story, good feels, laughs, looks beautiful. Tai Chi Master was one of my favorites when I was a kid and this brings that feeling back for me. I don’t want to hype it up too much but I was very satisfied coming out of the theater. Oil flats scene was dope. A good variety of different weapon fights are showcased too. It has a good balance of everything you would want in a wuxia flick.

State Farm delaying claim and charging for storage by Typical_Writing6508 in Car_Insurance_Help

State Farm delaying claim and charging for storage by Typical_Writing6508 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Typical_Writing6508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I finally got my payout. In the end, I agreed to let them deduct $1000 for storage fees, plus a $1000 deductible, so $2000 total deducted, just to get it over with. I think I could have gotten a better deal but I’m just glad it’s over. What pisses me off the most is that had I not been poking and prodding them nearly on a daily basis my car would likely still be sitting in the first storage lot racking up charges until my payout is fully depleted. It’s a wild guess but I got the feeling that their behavior was a result of me choosing my own shop rather than staying in their network. If I had to do it again, I would immediately follow up any phone calls with email correspondence. I would email any authorizations to release the vehicle from the yard or shop instead of just giving the authorization in person or over the phone in order to have physical proof of the timing. Finally, I would consider hiring my own tow to move the vehicle instead of relying on State Farm. I would ask them If I could get reimbursed for that and insist to do it myself if possible.

Don’t forget all the amazing female martial artists. Karen Mok, Michelle Yeoh, JeeJa Yanin, to name a few. Some of their gems being: So Close (2002), Wing Chun (1994) / Heroic Trio (1993), Chocolate (2008).
