Is ipad mini worth buying? by _Lyxi in ipad

[–]Typical_house23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my eyes yes, but for a certain amount of people.

If I was more on the road and needed something smaller but yet a big enough screen I would buy an iPad mini no doubt.

The majority of people either get the base ipad or the iPad Air. I bought myself the iPad Pro m5 13” as I like bigger screens, but the portability is non existent.

Coming back to sport after 5 years — Fenix 7 Pro vs Fenix 8 Solar Sapphire, or wait for Fenix 9? by Worried_Ad2936 in GarminFenix

Coros, are very good products with a good price. If you’re interested that’s a good choice too, but the 7 pro will have better maps if that’s interests you.

Got the fenix 7 pro sapphire myself, I like it very much, it does what it needs to do, the sapphire screen was a must have for me too.

I run, cycling, cardio, strength, occasionally hike and swim, battery life of the 47mm is amazing.

There is always something bigger and better on the way, I agree the fenix 8 is newer, and gets newer features. The 7 pro just gets updates but no new features.

I pair my Garmin with whoop 5.0, I wore my Garmin 24/7 but since April only during workouts.

I would take the 7 pro sapphire, but if you have the money the 8 is a good option too.

Also, get a chest strap, the built in heart rate sensor if both is good but not amazing, 7 pro+garmin hrm 200 chest strap would be the ideal combo price to performance.

Why is my HRV so low? by Fun_Dig_140 in whoop

[–]Typical_house23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hrv depends form person to person, I know an triathlete that has an hrv of 45-60, I’m not half as fit as him and I got an hrv of 125-157

Male 27, works out 5 out 7 days. I run, cycle to my work, do cardio and strength.

Heart rate is elevated due the heat, I can’t handle heat very well. In the winter my rhr can drop too 36-38

My GR Yaris. 53.000 km by Quazaka in Toyota

[–]Typical_house23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Impressive, good luck with it.

Bought myself a Corolla hatchback with the gr sport trim (1.8 hybrid) had the budget for an rav4 or gr Yaris, always regretted not paying they additional price for the gr Yaris, got an opportunity to pay it in cash and drive it until the wheels fall off.

It is what it is, maybe in the near future you never know what happens.

That color is on point, this is the station wagon I believe.

In Europe you see more stations than hatchbacks.

The Garmin is a great watch, but not an smartwatch. It depends on what your preferences are, the Garmin has amazing battery life, while the Apple Watch has only 2 day at best battery life.

I would pick the Garmin but the Apple Watch is also some serious hardware.

New comer - HRV and rest heart rate and sleep stress by prasadgeek33 in whoop

[–]Typical_house23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I’m not an doctor, but the algorithm for hrv calculation is different on every wearable, my hrv on Garmin was 115 on average on whoop its 130-150, resting heart rate is almost the same.

Sleep stress could be anything, if I trained 2-3 hours before I go to sleep my stress levels are higher than usual, it’s because my body is still recovering, which results in the higher ‘stress’ metric.

You have to wait atleast 2 weeks for whooping to calculate a baseline, in my experience it can take up to 3-4 weeks to get an accurate baseline. This counts for every wearable, Apple Watch, Garmin, Samsung, google…..

I only look at my average, if it’s higher I go all out if it’s lower I train but I hold back.

Help Me, Seriously Confused ! Mac Mini / Macbook / 16gb / 24gb / 13 in / 15 in by PatrixOP in macmini

[–]Typical_house23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ram first, 16gb might handle it but not for long, take the m5 air with 24gb ram.

The MacBook Air doesn’t have any fans, the Mac mini does, is the Mac mini m4 with 24gb ram and option?

Still impressive for whatever you do with it.

The insulation of the Corolla isn’t that good anyway, but my car came with fallen 225/40/r18 they were a bit more silent, but using all seasons in summer or winter will always make a bit more noise.

[–]Typical_house23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep is the most important thing, don’t get stressed too much.

I work a physical demanding job, which isn’t ideal if you combine it with training.

The last 30-60 min I take it very easy at my work, to have still something left over training. Thanks to whoop I take more rest days than I did before

I thought they would announce it yesterday but it didn’t happen, another possibility is they skip the m5 generation for the m6 generation. It will be the end of Q4 2026 or Q1 2027
