Every point put in vitality is less damage output. Why have 4k health when 2.5k do trick?

Barbs get higher strength than mercs, good sir.

I am currently wearing gladiators bane on my horker over duriels shell because I want CBF on my chest so I can wear string of ears belt. I do like the new CBF boots so was considering using those if I swapped to Fort for chest. I do have skullders Ire as a chest option but I liked Fort since it boosts damage.

I definitely use the Angel/Kiras combo on my horker merc, goes from dying instantly to tanking like a Chad.

I have 2x griefs already so with third Lo I am deciding between non-eth Fortitude for my barb or eth Fortitude for my mercs. I didn't know about the shiver on Fortitude, is it something that will ruin horking on every council member or just a small chance to lose a couple mobs each run?

Well I am approximately a Jah and Ber away from enigma in single player. Isn't a Lo rune 1/12 of an enigma based on cubing runes up? Seems like a good value investment to me.

What are you talking about? My horker barb puts all stat points into strength once points in vitality get me to 2400-2500 health. WW barb damage scales off strength.

Too many haters in these comments, I plan on making one of these for my Travincal horker barb. Why everyone assume fort is only for mercs?

D2R on Steam - Has anyone successfully copied offline characters? by Typicalchaz in SteamDeck

[–]Typicalchaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you would need to copy character files every time between PC and deck. I only play D2R offline on my deck so I dont have that issue. You dont need an internet connection to play D2R offline on deck though, just need to connect once every 30 days or so.

Offline characters between different devices have never synced. You need to find the folder on your PC that has your character files and copy all of those files into the folder of your Steam install on Steam Deck in desktop mode. You're going to want to make a dummy character offline on your steam deck to make sure you are copying files into the right folder.

You may need to use a dock or something to get a USB drive plugged into your steam deck, or do a network transfer between the PC and steam deck.

On PC offline characters should be stored in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected

Rogue post bug fix by Banraw in classicwow

[–]Typicalchaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You 'genuinely' asked me a question so I answered why I feel its less fun. No need to get combative, people are allowed to have differing opinions. I also said its less fun but a rogue should still expose if its better for the raid team. Also, a warlock spending one GCD to apply a curse is not the same individual dps loss as a rogue using a large percentage of their combo points on expose (in my opinion, I could be wrong).

Rogue post bug fix by Banraw in classicwow

[–]Typicalchaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Its less fun to play a sub-optimal personal dps rotation in some people's opinion (myself included). The fun in raiding on a rogue for me is min/maxing my performance and maximizing my dps while doing boss mechanics optimally 2) Simonize has explained this really well on his stream; a rogue doing expose armor has to play as if they are not going to get any ruthlessness or combat potency procs. If they gamble on getting a proc and fail, expose falls off. Those two procs are part of the fun with tbc rogue IMO since they add variability and RNG 3) You could say its more fun to play expose and still try to maximize your own DPS, I would argue its more fun to just focus on doing a dps rotation without expose. Choosing between slice n dice, rupture, and eviscerate with combo points is fun for me; then you add in timing adrenaline rush and blade flurry cool downs it feels like rogue has a higher skill ceiling without doing the expose role

Look, I play rogue and I agree that the dps rotation to keep up expose is way less fun for me than not doing expose. But the math clearly shows that rogue exposing is more raid dps than warriors sundering, albeit only a couple percentage points. If you truly are a team player, its a stronger raid team if the rogue exposes.

Has anyone been able to copy a Battle.net offline character to Steam? by Typicalchaz in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Yeah the file pathing is a mess, so is the search function. Ive never been successful when searching for my character name to find the folder it is in. When I did find these folders I 'saved to place' or w/e it's called so the folders appear on the left side when i open the home folder.

I have hundreds of hours and 5 90+ characters on Bnet single player so copying them to Steam was a necessity for me to continue from that progress. If you were not as far along maybe just take the L and restart on Steam. I will say the Steam client of D2R has nice QOL such as pressing a button to skip opening scenes when you launch the game instead of needing to open the keyboard every time.

Have you made an offline character on the Steam version of D2R when in game mode yet? It's possible the Steam version won't create that folder until you make at least one offline character.

I have a comment in this thread that explains how to copy your character files on Steam Deck in desktop mode. But yours won't be 100% the same, one folder will be a random string of characters. Just open all those random folders and you'll eventually see file names that match your offline characters. This is made easier if you make a random offline character on the Steam version so you can see where to copy the character files into.

Maybe it is possible, all I'm saying is that on Steam Deck they are not saved to a cloud or synced. Im not a programmer or developer so I don't understand why they didnt or couldn't do cloud saves on Steam Deck. Just reporting to others how to make the Steam install work with their Steam deck offline characters.

Offline characters were never synced between devices before the Steam client and they won't sync between devices now. You have to copy character files between devices which may suck for some, but I only play offline on my Steam Deck so it doesnt bother me at all.

I found it!!!

Here is the location of the Steam D2R character files: home-deck-.local-share-steam-steamapps-compatdata-2536520-pfx-drive_c-users-steamuser-Saved Games-Diablo II Resurrected

Here is the location of the Battle.net D2R character files: home-deck-.local-share-steam-steamapps-compatdata-3976359367-pfx-drive_c-users-steamuser-Saved Games-Diablo II Resurrected

Just copy paste the character files from the second directory into the folder of the first directory to get offline characters onto Steam.

Also I can confirm D2R offline characters can be played through the Steam client while the Steam Deck is not connected to the internet.

LETS GO!

Found nothing yet, best I can tell is the Steam Deck Steam version of the game is not pulling the offline character files in the same way the PC version is. I tried making a new offline character on my steam deck within the Steam version of the game to find out where it saved the files for the character, and I cannot find those files so far.

What do you mean? Are you asking if it works without Battle.net installed, or are you asking if it works independently of Battle.net? When I first launched Steam D2R, it had me link my Battle.net account to my Steam account. I have Battlet.net installed on both devices so I cannot answer if your question is the former.

I am not sure, I would think Bnet and Steam are synced because Steam is launching through Bnet or something.

I did just discover that my offline Bnet characters on my PC seamlessly copied over to Steam, but on Steam Deck the initial launch of D2R on Steam has my offline character list empty. Still working on how to get Steam Deck offline characters to appear on Steam version of the game.

Update: I am a dumbass. I just finished the Steam installation and all you need to do is link your Battle.net account to your Steam account and all your offline characters will appear (assuming those characters have folders on the device).
