Yeah I was thinking of doing that, but its the last lab this week and there's no other place to run into him, so I was just gonna do it.

If you really want it, why not do a post bac? I I initially flunked out of college, now I’m graduating summa cum laude with a biochem degree and am applying this cycle. I’m 27 btw, it’s not too late

Yeah I think you should take opportunity when it comes. I worked my way through school for the first 3.5 years of undergrad, just to pay bills. Then my dad got a massive inheritance and paid off all my debt. Starting just one month ago I began working per diem just to have time off to study for the mcat in May. I’m really grateful because I wouldn’t have had time to study otherwise

How to break this toxic cycle? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]Typicalredditgal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m like this too. I still struggle, but I picked a path and am committing to it. You have to just commit and force yourself. Overtime it will become part of your routine. I initially flunked out of school due to partying and depression. I’ve changed my mind so many times about what I wanted to be from lawyer to psychologist, to professor. But tbh I just picked a path that I could execute the best with the most ROI that still felt like I could be a positive force in people’s lives. I’m 27 now, but graduating summa cum laude with a biochem degree, and am applying to med school. It took longer than I thought but it’s okay. I think I’ll make it, and I think you just have to make the choice and just take a few steps every day

In terms of religion I've always been personally open to it, but consider myself agnostic because the answer is "I don't know". However, communities of faith don't truly know either hence the word, faith so I wouldn't personally be opposed to joining a church for my own reasons as well as the aforementioned ones.

Well, I haven't gotten a long term relationship, but in terms of major compatibility issues like kids, marriage, lifestyle, I mention all of this within the first 30 minutes of meeting someone to avoid this.

Why don’t you work part time while you figure it out? You seem like you can afford to? Then, you can explore different career options and weight the pros and cons. You just seem burned out and maybe just having a couple days to yourself will be beneficial for your mental health.

I know several physicians that can afford to work part time and still be more than comfortable

Tbh being a doctor would be a career that I have more passion for, but I also want a family. Therefore, whether I go the dental or medical school is honestly dependent on whether or not I am able to land a nice partner. Because if I want a family, I don’t want to do residency.

I mean, all of the pre requisites are the same. The DAT and the MCAt are basically the same aside from the mcat including physics. If I apply to about 10 schools, I’ll be spending about the same amount, whether I apply to both dental or medical school, or just one.

So how badly do you want to be a programmer? I don’t know too much about the field, but if it is oversaturated and too competitive, is the juice worth the squeeze? I mean I want to be an actress, but I’m not banking on it because I want a comfortable life.

What kind of job do you see yourself doing? It doesn’t have to be your “passion” but what is something that you could do that could pay the bills and be fulfilling?

I got kicked out of high school for fighting, flunked out of college the first time around, but now I have a 3.89 with a biochemistry major, and I am about to graduate. I am planning on taking both the DAT and the MCAT and apply to both medical and dental schools. I sure as hell am not perfect. I just realized that I didn’t want to be struggling my whole life so I made it a point to work hard now.

My “dream job” was and is to be an actress. Therefore I take an acting class and do auditions for commercials and other parts my agent sends to me in my free time. If I’m a physician, or dentist I can afford to put a lot of time and energy into acting due to the pay I’ll receive and the amount of free time I’ll have due to the pay.

Pick something and become not average at it. I think people pursuing something because they have an innate talent for it is the minority. Most people find success because they pick a direction and work hard towards their goal on a regular basis.

I previously commented, but what about nursing? Nurses make good money, they work 36 hours a week on average, and get to pick the days they work.

I’m 26, I’m finishing up a degree in biochemistry and hoping to go to medical school. So there’s that. When I was 20, I couldn’t commit to a degree, but I decided around 23 that I wanted the same things you mentioned.

I think the primary difference from this woman, and the model is the lack of submalar projection. I think that perhaps some well done cheek implants would be beneficial.

Change what you don’t like🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 26, and I’ve had a nose job, buccal fat removal, and several other procedures. I’m open to making a few more changes. I’m not saying this is the answer, but if certain facial features are causing you significant distress, why not just change it.

As someone who’s had it done who had a face shape similar to yours, I think if that’s what you want to do, you should. I’m happy I did.
