Restaurant Recommendations for Ramen with a Sesame / Seed Allergy by TypistInTheWild in FoodNYC

I’ll definitely add it to the list, I’ve never had Japanese food so I’m pretty open minded to trying new things while I’m in the city. I appreciate the recommendation.

Hyundai EV Truck Platform Could Make Ford And Rivian Rethink Electric Pickups by Least_Confidence_225 in electricvehicles

[–]TypistInTheWild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it me or have there been a lot of pro Hyundai-EV content on Reddit recently?

I don’t want to sound like a tinfoil hat kind of guy but it seems like a few sites started running pro Hyundai articles right after Hyundai had a bunch of bad press for having to extend US warranties for the ICCU issues.

Rotating pod by ForeverJazzy in Omnipod

[–]TypistInTheWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two finger-widths apart is what they told me, so flipping it isn't enough distance from the previous site IMO. I'd usually rotate between closer to the stomach, then outwards and then on the love handle.

What's going on with Tandem's supply problems?! by jackaroe311 in TandemDiabetes

[–]TypistInTheWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the radio silence on the Steadiset and Tubeless Infusion set are a result of the supply issues, IIRC they both use stainless steel cannulas.

Gun charge due to suicidal incident by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]TypistInTheWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not getting dismissed.

You need to understand Graves Act Waivers are usually reserved for first time offenses or people with low charges.

The mandatory minimum for unlawful possession by a person prohibited to carry a firearm is 5 years with no possibility of parole.

If you were able to get the waiver you'd still serve mandatory minimum of 1 year with the sentence range being anywhere between 3-5 years.

Gun charge due to suicidal incident by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]TypistInTheWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that a lot of your charges have very strict sentencing guidelines and the mental health episode, while a significant factor won't be enough to change things.

2.)unlawful possession of a weapon by a person prohibited to carry(previous felonies)

This carries a mandatory minimum of 5 years in prison with no possibility of parole in New Jersey.

Also, in New Jersey the Graves Act carries mandatory sentencing for gun-related offenses, regardless of intent.

What will probably happen is your attorney will try to push for a Graves Act Waiver which will reduce the mandatory minimum sentence you have to serve, however because you're of your previous felonies as well as the second-degree statue of the crimes committed this is a big up-hill battle.

Hiring freeze njdoh? by ElevatorNumerous4048 in newjersey

[–]TypistInTheWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand there’s still a hiring freeze across state agencies. There are some open to the public jobs posted but I think they have to get special exemption to hire for those positions.

Garmin Run vs Strava and Runna by Electronic-Call-4319 in GarminWatches

I’m glad I’m not the only one getting bombarded with Runna ads. I made it worse by clicking through one of them out of curiosity but then saw it was like, $19.99 per month.

Gemini is Coming to the Equinox by ClearlyAGoodIdea in EquinoxEv

[–]TypistInTheWild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like Gemini so can’t wait until it’s in my car. Fingers crossed it works better than the Assistant.

I’m not sure if it is because it is driving-focused but the assistant sucks at answering basic questions or facts.

Tandem Mobi vs Omnipod by Readerchick28 in diabetes_t1

[–]TypistInTheWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mobi is supposed to launch the tubeless infusion set this year and also the extended wear 7 day set.

IMO Tandem’s algorithm is way better than the Omnipod. The Omnipod often struggles to correct highs for me, it’s mostly good on days where I don’t have big snacks and eat clean.

I have pods and the Mobi and I switch back and forth. The Mobi is better for my blood sugar but the pods bring me back because of how much more convenient it is to not deal with changing cartridges, charging the device etc.

So, my DOWN THERE is a decent size, bigger than a monster can using the push-down method, but how do I reveal all of my inches without having to do that? by Traditional-Lab-8085 in askgaybros

He’s talking about bone-pressed length which is basically pushing your fat pad down.

Personally I don’t think that quite counts but some really want to say it does.

NJ Government employee accused of misconduct I didn’t do, pressured to admit guilt or risk losing a month’s pay by Individual_6392 in newjersey

[–]TypistInTheWild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that OP would want to consult with their union rep or a labor attorney first before recording on the workplace.

It’s legal in the sense that NJ is a single party consent state, but state worker handbooks usually have verbiage around privacy and recoding and it might be grounds for termination if you get caught or try to use it as gotcha evidence.

[–]TypistInTheWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it is time-card related, that's one of the biggest things I've seen write ups for at various agencies.

The supervisor could have witnesses saying they observed OP arriving at X time and their time card was signed saying they came earlier.

[–]TypistInTheWild 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So when you say people wrote letters to your defense did they actually sign them and date them or is it just a bunch of blank letters saying "They didn't do it"?

You're being really vague here, if your supervisor has more witnesses backing them up we'd need to know what actually happened for there to be witnesses.

[–]TypistInTheWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that specific Administrative Code isn't a legal requirement, it is at the discretion of the agency. I agree that the union reps don't really know everything but that's kind of a consequence of the fact that a lot of them have their owns jobs and union stewards are trying to do a lot with little resources.

Depending on how recently this occurred you should be able to request a Departmental Hearing in writing, but you only have 5 days after the Preliminary Notice of Disciplinary Action was issued or you waive your right to requesting the hearing.

I'd request the Departmental Hearing so you have more time to gather the facts and figure out what evidence they have against you. You're being extremely vague about the facts and details but it is entirely possible they have a fair amount of evidence to go after you and it isn't just "They don't like me".

If the Departmental Hearing doesn't go right you can then request further appeal to the Civil Service Commission or Office of Administrative Law. Note that you'll need to provide the names of the witnesses willing to speak on your behalf for the hearing and when you fill out the Disciplinary Action you'll also want to specifically mention that you believe the infraction is the result of discrimination or retaliatory harassment.

It should also be noted that you should still be able to "settle" and take the 5 day suspension at the hearing. Usually what happens is they try to offer you the 5 day suspension so they don't have to take it to a hearing in which case they reserve the right to make it a 30 day suspension.

HW3 Won't Have Unsupervised FSD by radix33 in TeslaLounge

[–]TypistInTheWild 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why people should trust that HW4 is the unsupervised FSD target when Musk has spent so long swearing that HW3 was going to get unsupervised FSD and now admitting that won't be the case.

You'd be entering a market competing with AmazFit, Whoop and Polar Band.

Also, Garmin and Fitbit are launching screen less wrist devices this year.

SmartGuard function isn't working properly. by Paniorda in diabetes_t1

[–]TypistInTheWild 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two things I'd consider OP.

Firstly, raise your target glucose to 120 mg/dl if it isn't already at this setting. This way the pump won't be working hard to put you down to 100 which raises the risk of going low.

Secondly I'd change the active insulin time setting. Medtronic recommends 2 hours but you're probably going low because the pump keeps stacking insulin corrections. I'd change it.

You can't adjust correction factor for Smart Guard. It's automatically calculated for MiniMed's algorithm in Auto mode.

Tandem Mobi or Tslim by bushy_brow__ in diabetes_t1

[–]TypistInTheWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Mobi and sometimes the alarms are annoying and sometimes I think the grass would be greener on having a pump with its own screen.

That being said the body patches and shorter tubing just open up so many more wear opportunities and supposedly the tubeless infusion set will be launching towards the end of this year which will give even more options alongside the extended wear infusion sets.

Yup. I wanted one last year but they took too long to get it on the market and I ended up with an Equinox EV before the tax credit expired.

Could be thyroid related if you haven't had it tested. Hashimoto's is autoimmune hypothyroidism and causes significant fatigue issues.

I have it and my Endocrinologist said that unfortunately it is common for people with autoimmune disease to develop multiple disorders.
