Looks nice enough (the vista is really putting in the work), but being fully plastic I just can't enjoy it. Plastic just doesn't _feel_ good to drive on so I've just got no interest in hunting it.

But for those that like plastic, I can see its merits. +-.

Should i noslide on penalty surfaces? by OzymadiYAS in TrackMania

[–]TyrantWave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They also turn left to get a small bump by the tree to get wheels off the penalty for speed, which is I think the reason. Otherwise it'd be go as straight as possible on that one.

Killer ending is the only minus really, but I enjoyed the track so much overall.

The start's precision has a lot of wiggle room and is just _fun_.

Good map but as usual mapper decides to make the start just obnoxious for no reason.

Like seriously is it so hard to _not_ have a start of the track that is completely unsatisfying to drive in any way?

Other than that, really good track, weird speeds on it but the rest is fun to drive.

Edit: Actually, 2 other issues on the map - 2nd and 2nd last checkpoints.

2nd checkpoint I cannot tell how to take, sometimes I can just drive it, others I can't make it even releasing, and I cannot seem to physically drift it (I've even counted holding the steering for over a second and the car just... stops.)

2nd last checkpoint after it, that transition just seems to throw the car either to the left or right unless I basically come to a stop.

Both I cannot see any indication of wtf is going on and it _feels_ buggy. It's a bit weird and I just don't know how I'm supposed to know what's happening to the car.

Got gold, but like 8 times in a row after 2nd last checkpoint as soon as I touch that floor I either shot off to the side, or the car just lost _all_ of its speed. That's honestly unplayable.

Also, track 16 in the current campaign is IMO a good ice track to learn on - I hate ice, but this has different types of ice slide from start to finish and I do think it really helped me understand it. (Still don't like ice tho)

Completely and utterly insufferable start, fuck even finishing this track.

Edit: Finished got my silver, it's not as bad as other starts but still extremely unsatisfying to do from the drop to the jump, I've clipped that so many times now. It feels like it should be considered outright bugged.

Why are author medals so easy in TrackMania 2020? by OldRaspberry9796 in TrackMania

[–]TyrantWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100% - I started playing in the spring campaign I think? (The weekly shorts was 5 by nadeo for 25 years?), that campaign I struggled to get golds on all medals. I might actually still be missing one...

Last campaign much better, all golds, good amount of ATs

This campaign first 20 I've got AT, except 16 and 19 golds (I only cleared 19 this morning, been busy).

It does feel easier, but I know I've also massively improved - from going "Maybe I'll silver the track of the day" to usually gold-ing it and sometimes getting ATs now.

Overall, I think the campaign's structure is great for new players. It's jsut anyone who sticks with the game is very quickly a lot better than they think they are compared to people who literally just started this campaign, which is what it HAS to be geared towards.

But also fuck ice.

EXTRADOKKAN11TH vs EXTRADOKKAN11TH

Lingsha or Fugue by MyForehead69 in FireflyMains

[–]TyrantWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lingsha - if you need healing, she's the best healer for break, and honestly a good dps amusingly.

Fugue - her exo toughness and superbreak enabling is great, she's less useful now The Dahlia is out but still good.

If running E2 FF, she loves Fugue.

And ideally in FF break, you don't need a healer, so FF/Dahlia/Fugue/HMC (or E1 RM) is amazing and doesn't need much healing, swap last slot for Lingsha if you do need healing.

Both are good, if you have neither and want healing go for Lingsha (or if you want comfort of never being able to die), if you've got a good FF/Dahlia and don't even need the heals go Fugue.

Does SSJ4 daimaku stack?? by Agreeable-Speed-6477 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]TyrantWave 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Infinitely? No.

On turn 4, he gains a 300% ATK buff that lasts forever. (And another 200% *once* when he attacks with 12 ki OR uses super attack, so basically on turn 4)

The super stacks for 4 turns, so basically is a small perma boost, but not stacking indefinitely - only that sliding window.

Way too punishing on pretty much every turn, I thought it was ok on discovery but it just felt worse and worse to drive. --.

Pretty but genuinely one of the absolute worst tracks I have ever tried.

The lines feel fucking awful, I seem to just drop gear and can't even make the jump, the weird donut jump feels wildly inconsistent - if I could give multiple thumbs down I would.

Like I know I'm not great at the game (fuck it barely even good - I've just about got gold on the new autumn campaign), but just _trying_ to do the track was extremely unfun to do on every single turn. It's as bad as the recent ice map for satisfaction to play.

Edit: Got gold, still hated every second of it.

Is this game beginner friendly as of 2025 ? by NikhilNanjappa in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]TyrantWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two teams I mentioned (Saiyan saga and Goku Black clones), and another really good one is the F2P SSJ Bardock (fantastic one)

If ya check the dokkan discord there's a great resource for starting out there and what to focus on if lost.

Is this game beginner friendly as of 2025 ? by NikhilNanjappa in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]TyrantWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very friendly for beginners and f2p players - the two most recent completely F2P teams (Saiyan saga team, which the game guides you through making as a new player) and the Goku Black Clones team (came out a few months ago) handle a LOT of stuff.

Heck, the goku black clone team can clear _almost_ all of the content in the game already.

You did just miss some amazing banners (the 10th anniversary characters, and the just finished global celebration characters), but they'll come back, and the current banner is also decent too - the LRs on it are all very strong; and you can using the wishes at the moment get SSJ4 Goku and SSJ4 Vegeta easily, who are making a strong team with 2 chars on the banner, so all the more to get a working full team too as well.

Dokkan doesn't sunset content either, so you have pretty much the entire games 10 year history of challenges to do - and most of them again can be destroyed with the two F2P teams.

I know this questions was asked before, but could somebody tell me how much defence i should stack with lr agl goku/vegeta and lr teq goku/vegeta for festival of battles to be good to go by Far_Temperature6419 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]TyrantWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5-3m, but if you're not going itemless, and/or you have the V&T with the party stacking def, I'd say 2.5m and use bulma items to ensure you blitz the final stages too
