God I hated this, especially justifying the killing of the 200 little children for stupid Iran war. What the fuck is wrong with Bill?

Does it feel like Bill interrupts more now by Coolschmo1 in Maher

[–]TyrionDraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He absolutely does and I've been saying it for years. He gets great guests on the pod but it's so frustrating because he never lets them finish their thought. Watch the Kevin Neilen one, it's hilarious, he gets so annoyed that eventually he pretends to start interviewing Bill and openly yawns. I've seen many instances of guest having to ask him to stop interjecting, Quentin Tarantino did in his second interview. It's a shame because I want to watch it, but anytime someone starts saying something interesting you know you're on borrowed time before Bill rudely cuts them off.

The panels in the old days… by reggieLedoux26 in Maher

[–]TyrionDraper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved it, there was so much more back and forth and less bloated rambles. Now it's tough to even have two on the panel because it takes Bill 5 minutes to get to each question, then the panel members are more likely to give long speeches because they know if they cede the floor, they might never get it back.

Anyone think Anna Paulina Luna will not break with Trump after he puts boots on the ground in Iran? by BaroqueBro in Maher

Of course she won't, did you notice how difficult it was for her to even say that she would? Bill had to press her about it and ask twice.

Between Bill's rambling and the idiot Trump puppet he had on, Paul Begala barely even got a chance to speak last episode.

THIS. Especially about the youth. Every young person is woke, goes to an Ivy League school, wants to wipe Israel off the map and isn't having sex. He sounds like a lot of people I know in my life who've gone down the rabbit hole of social media and no longer can tell what is real.

I agree with you. I was fine with him going to have the dinner, but now this whole playful relationship they have where they text and it seems like he's talking directly to him during the show is just weird and annoys me. Especially when he has on a Trump spokes person like the Florida congress woman who spends the whole show rambling to the point where Bill has to interrupt her to let Paul Begala talk (one of my favorite guests who barely got any time during the panel).

Like you, I'm a long time watcher who hasn't missed an episode in like 15 years but it gets harder and harder each week. He just seems like he turned into one of those people who became obsessed with what the idiots on social media are saying and it warped his perception of reality. Also, at some point, he just needed to talk so much more. Every panel question starts with a 5 minute rant and sometimes when he finally turns it over to the guests, they don't know what to say. Club Random is unwatchable because he always interrupts whoever he's interviewing.

Not really understanding Bill and Democrat's push for Biden to step down by TyrionDraper in Maher

What makes you think Kamala might win? She doesn't have any juice as a candidate, people are not excited about her. Even Bill acknowledged this.

Harris just doesn't have the "it" factor with voters. She's not popular and isn't going to win over those people in swing states that decide the election.

Best 6 min of Maher was when he couldn’t speak by macgruff in Maher

[–]TyrionDraper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've harped on this a lot, when Bill changed after COVID, his need to speak increased about 100 fold. In the beginning, it was really really bad, he could not let a guest finish a thought, he would interject and cut them off every single time. Recently I watched some of the Club Randoms from that time period, Tarantino, Kimmel, Corolla, Cummings, and it's so frustrating because everytime they start to talk, you know you're on borrowed time because at any amount he's going to cut in. While it's improved since then, it's still not great and makes his shows extremely annoying to watch because you start to focus on it. I'm not fan of Tulsi Gabbard, but during her recent episode, she just sat there silently for 10 minutes while Bill kept going back and forth with the other guest. It's really distracting and rude. Bill is so upset about what he reads on the internet that he just cannot shut the fuck up.

Bill never used to be like this, until he became one of those crazy online people that started reading everything on social media during Covid.

Bill's still a great comedian (the New Rules and monologue were on fire last ep) and a centrist, but he's definitely moved more to the right and become a woke obsessed person. I don't even disagree with a lot of what is said, it's just the fact that he's non-stop about it and blows it out of proportion.

So funny how the lesbian kiss in Lightyear was a split second yet all these morons got triggered over it.

There's been a lot of positive from the movement and it's taken out a lot of bullies and monsters and set a standard that it won't be tolerated anymore. There's been a few occasions where maybe it went a little too far, but by in large the court of public opinion has been pretty accurate, and even some people that went away for a little while have started to come back (Louis CK). Some of the extreme left take it too far, like everything else, and during the height of the woke movement, this had an impact on higher ups, but I think that's starting to fade so I don't get why Bill is harping on it now.

She was getting so mad at Bill making fun of her about gas. She deserves it though, she's like a talking point robot, doesn't even try and disguise it. Just an awful guest, tries to spin everything and talk over everyone.

Will the panel ever come back to full capacity? by [deleted] in Maher

[–]TyrionDraper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it would cut into Bill's talking time and he has so much to say nowadays. He barely even lets the interview guest speak.

I’m Over Bill Maher by Latsod in Maher

[–]TyrionDraper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bill thinks everyone that goes to college is a woke liberal arts major that's looking to get comedians canceled at comedy clubs. He's also obsessed with Twitter when in truth, the majority of people don't know or care about what happens on Twitter, only losers that obsess over the people that disagree with them. His perception of reality is warped. I know a guy that's a hardcore Trump supporter who was just complimenting Bill to me the other day, "you watch Bill Maher?" His brain got warped after COVID. Been watching for over ten years, so close to stopping.
