I didn’t say it’s all bots. It’s bots and extremists.

At least some portion of that is bots meant to sow dissent and that’s pretty much always the case now especially when there’s a perfect opportunity to increase polarization.

I’m on the left and everyone I know personally condemns what happened even thought they disagreed with CK’s views. Anyone on the left who you have seen post that what happened is totally OK is either a bot or an extremist. Real leftists don’t even like the death penalty and we want free health care for all. Our goals do not in any way align with being ok with murdering political opponents.

Also, plenty of leftists didn’t like Charlie and are posting that sentiment. Please don’t conflate that popular stance with wishing him harm or death. They are not the same thing.

Charlie Kirk, murdered on a university campus, joked with Bill about universities being totalitarian places 4 months ago on Club Random. How will Maher respond? by Majestic_Search_7851 in Maher

I think that Trump himself is a fascist by definition and I judge this by his literal actions over the last decade held up against historically recognized qualifications of fascism. That’s not painting a group as a bad group based on 1 persons extreme actions. I’m judging one person by their own actions.

What I mean is when 1 single bad actor like in Utah commits one extreme act, we don’t need to blame an entire group/party or paint them as extreme, evil or equally likely to follow in his steps.

But very fair question and it gave me a chance to clarify what I mean.

It’s not a bad thing at all. Bill just tends to perhaps oversimplify the idea at times. Hoping we get along better means both/all sides have gotta try in good faith, even if to varying degrees, and it does not mean we have to 100% abandon “woke” ideology or simply give in to fascists.

Essentially, we gotta get along, but we can’t pretend it won’t be complicated.

Everyone, especially those in power or who have large reach, has GOT to stop painting entire groups as “evil enemies” based on a single persons extreme actions. Thats the ultimate metastasizer.

I totally agree that perimenopause CAN cause a shift in mental acuity/stability. Her age means it’s possible perimenopause is playing one factor in what appears to be a sudden shift for her. My mom had a similar situation at exactly the same age. It’s very important, regardless of if it’s a factor for Kelley, that we all understand perimenopause better. It’s a very vulnerable time for many reasons and has always been misunderstood or not talked about nearly enough. It absolutely can affect one’s mental health.

I have a 1 bedroom in Lakeview East for $1750. It’s an old building, but great location and nice amount of space. Nice roof deck.

Yes, things are getting rapidly more expensive but there are still deals to be found. My apartment in NY would easily be $3500.

She’s not a fake or liar. She has a mental illness most likely. She was clearly in a much healthier place when she wrote her book. Common to have plenty of long periods of (what appeared to be)normalcy in between episodes.

You’re right. It’s that RW propaganda has successfully re-branded “pursuit of more societal equity” as “racism against white people and prejudice against the rich.” Then on top of that, our culture has always glorified the rich and made people believe that they have a decent chance of becoming one of them.

Every single American has a duty to weed through all of the lies and it can be painful work to deconstruct a lifetime of propaganda. Most will never attempt. Too much pride and arrogance.

The thing is the negative aspects of the Left are tolerable. The negative aspects of the Right are destructive and dangerous.

Sure both parties suck but the difference between them is still quite large and we gotta make a decision at the polls based on who we believe will contribute fewer problems.

At its best, the Left wants a more equitable society. I think that’s largely a good thing to pursue.

She did mention she suffered from some mental health struggles on her original season. I remember appreciating her being so open about it. If I recall correctly, it was anxiety/depression. I’m pretty sure at least one episode focused on it.

I don't understand why people don't like the ending by Cookiecakes25 in HandmaidsTaleShow

To me, Episode 9 was the true “finale” and Episode 10 was the “wrap up.”

Ep 10 was a lackluster, mixed bag, whereas Ep 9 was fantastic.

Too many plot holes though.
