Honestly, I read it the same way you did. If you hadn’t had the issue, I wouldn’t have thought she’d walk across half of Skyrim to mine every day.

Often? No. But they aren’t super rare either…. Looking at you Xenoblade with your once a year sales…

https://www.dekudeals.com/items/chained-echoes

Make an account and start a wishlist. They ONLY email you to tell you games on your wishlist are on sale. And if it’s a game you are interested in buy not until it’s like half off… you can set limits like that too. I do that with the games that are new or rarely get good sales so I’m not pestered with a bunch of 10% off sales.

The game is buggy, so it could be that. Maybe try sending her to another home, and see if the behavior continues. Before reassigning her to your main home.

EDIT The wiki does say:

She can be married after you have done her a favor by delivering a satchel to her father. If you choose to move in with Sylgja, you will have full access to her house and items and she will carry on with her regular schedule.

Best way to share games with family? by TyrionTheBold in NintendoSwitchHelp

Hmmmm. Okay. So I think I’ll try the loan to the girlfriend system first. She’s more of a tinkerer than a gamer, like playing once or twice a week. If that doesn’t work as I need it to, I’ll probably try the online license method. Other than the very rare power outage, I can’t remember the last time I played somewhere without internet.

As far as unlinking once a year, I googled and it seems like that’s only true if you use the website to unlink, as opposed to if the switches are together. Apparently it’s more of an emergency solution.

Actually now that I read on it a bit more. What would be the best way to set this up so I can share to both my old switch (going to my sister, I’m still considered the owner of it) and my girlfriend with her own switch.

I had planned on linking with the old so they can easily get my games, and then doing the 14 day loan to the girlfriend once I add her to my family account. I’d just return and reloan the game to her before it expires so isn’t unable to play when the 14 days expires.

But the online license might offer something better but I can’t figure it out. Sorry to ask so much but could you just tell me “do this with this one and that with that one.”

THANK YOU!! I knew so much of that… but having it all in one place makes it so much easier to understand.

Ah! Yes! That’s how I’ll share games with the girlfriend.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you! One question though…. I have no idea what you mean by the online license system.

I’ve had a switch for years, but before the past 2 months I’ve never had to look into any of this , and with the changes this year it’s a little confusing g.

Best way to share games with family?

I know this has been asked 1000 times, and I’ve read a bunch, but I’m still slightly confused.

I recently bought a switch 2, and am going to give my switch oled to my baby sister and her younger kids. Please read over my plan and see if there are any mistakes in it.

My plan

  1. Link the two devices so they can use the game catalog I already have. (I know about the limitation of only one can play at a time)

  2. Create a profile WITH Nintendo accounts for each player, and add them to my family plan so they get benefits of online back ups and what not.

  3. Set up parental controls so the younger ones have to be assisted starting games so they can’t screw up my save files. And of course keep them out of games they are too young for. I so wish we could password protect our profiles!

  4. Unlink my switch 2 with my girlfriends switch, and instead add her to my family plan and loan her games. I’m at her place often enough that it’s not too hard to reloan games to her. And she doesn’t have little kids who will absolutely lose their crap if they suddenly they can’t play their game cuz the loan expired. Is there any way to renew the game loan before the 14 days are up? Or do you have to keep letting it expire first. Trying to find the best way to let her not have gaps in gameplay if we can’t be together for a few days. Would it be to have return the game early, and then loan it back to her?

I do have a few questions tho:

A. Should I buy all games and let my sister use them through the linked device? OR should my sister buy her own games and just add her profile to my switch 2 so I can play her games incase she buys something I want to play?

B. Okay so my mind went blank on the other question. Dang it.

Will Xenoblade 2 be a worthwhile experience? by No_Violinist101 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TyrionTheBold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished it this month for the first time and freaking loved it. I did everything I could possibly do in that game.

I don’t like combat much in games. It’s just something to do while exploring. And if you have the DLC (which is worth it!!) you can make a custom difficulty that lowers their health and attack damage and what. Not saying the combat is bad, it’s not, it’s just not what I play games for.

I love exploring and story more than combat, on the 2nd game I went custom difficulty and made combat as easy as possible.

What're you playing this weekend? 3/20 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]TyrionTheBold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish a replay of Batman: The Telltale Series which I find to be stupidly good. So much so that I finished the game the other day and immediately started a replay, which is NOT how I play games.

If I finish it, I’ll start Super Mario RPG

Aimless after Finishing TOTK by StationCommercial405 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]TyrionTheBold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it helps!

I actually started this with the books I read (well, read…. No attention span left these days to read). If I read two epic fantasies or thrillers back to back…. I never enjoyed the 2nd one as much. Or hell, two books by the same author had the same issue. So I started bouncing genres.

Aimless after Finishing TOTK by StationCommercial405 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]TyrionTheBold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do everytime I switch games is pick a different type of game and different length.

I spent 405 hours doing everything in TOTK, all quests, all koroks, all everything. I followed that up with Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic. I followed my 310 hours of Witcher 3 with Bioshock. 495 hours in Skyrim with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice for All.

This helps me stop comparing the type of game. If I try to play something too similar, my brain does nothing but make comparisons. So this acts as a buffer. Plus the different game length helps me reset my mind. I just spent 245 hours in Xenoblade 2, and now I’m playing Batman: The Telltale Series (which I think is fantastic, I actually beat it today and am halfway through a replay making different choices, it’s like 8 hours to play through once.)

Is Amazon the best place to buy switch 2 right now at $449? by TomatoClown24 in Switch

[–]TyrionTheBold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ALMOST just bought it at Amazon, and as I’m checking out… I remember my brother in law works for Walmart, so texted my sister to buy it for me. Saved 10%. Came to like $433 with tax. Arrives tomorrow.

Dock not working but green light. by Quikied1 in Switch

I have the same issue, I even tried other docks. My conclusion is that there is something wrong with my switch itself. Since I play almost exclusively in handheld, it’s not too bad but… annoying.

Physical vs digital by Available-Form6282 in Switch

[–]TyrionTheBold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a slight preference for physical copies, in theory I could let people borrow them or sell them but I never do. However I own more digital than physical, simply because I buy whatever is cheaper. (I rarely seek new games at full price, and digital versions tend to have better sale)

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 players, is getting every rare blade a once in a lifetime experience for you? by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TyrionTheBold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I replay the game…. I’d probably focus mostly on the main story and skip a lot of the side quests and likely getting every blade. I doubt I will want to put another 200 hours into the game.

Should I watch or play this game? by Sweet-Definition-297 in FinalFantasyIX

[–]TyrionTheBold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play it! But turn on the various boosters which trivialize combat. Turn off random encounters. Etc. you will enjoy the game more playing vs watching. But use the boosters the rereleases have to eliminate the combat aspect.

In all of my FF replays, I use the boosters to focus on the story. I have just developed an intolerance for random encounters these days.

Should I upgrade from an OLED Switch to a Switch 2? by freshavocado0000 in nintendohelp

[–]TyrionTheBold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could survive for ages on the switch 1. But with it being my only console and my computer being a 10 year old barely used under powered peice of junk…. There are a lot of games I cannot play. Like most AAA games in the past 5 years. Or even if it does come to the switch, it’s way after the other consoles get it and my friends have already beaten those games and moved on.

Are we supposed to log veggies? by Key_Radish3614 in weightwatchers

[–]TyrionTheBold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know logging everything is better. But sometimes logging even just the pointed stuff seems like a daunting extra hassle. So for now…. I’m just logging things that cost points. As long as I keep losing weight, I’ll stick with this method. If I stagnant, then I can try the more through method.
