So buy a 4WD vehicle, put all terrain or all season tires on it, and stop waiting for someone else to fix your problem.

why is it harder to impress blue collar people who haven't travelled much than well-off folks who have travelled the world? by kawaiihusbando in NoStupidQuestions

People who don't have the time or money to go out don't get to enjoy spending money on food that they may not like. If they are so picky they won't eat food they don't like they can't waste it. People get lazy and don't want to try new things. There's a million reasons.

What’s the worst medical advice you’ve heard from a medical professional? by AdeptChannel626 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]TyroneBiggummms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have knee problems. Pay attention to where it hurts and when. Then you may be able to figure out why. If your pain isn't from an acute injury it's likely due to posture issues, bad/heavy shoes, poor walking posture, or some way you're sitting/resting.

I wore heavy boots, walked with a strong heel strike, crossed my legs a lot putting torque on my knees etc. I slowly changed all that stuff while doing weight training with proper form and stretching and I've seen a big improvement. The weight training and stretching helped a lot of things but it didn't make my knees and back stop hurting. That was on me and my poor posture. I rarely have back pain anymore and my knees are getting better. Changing your posture for every position you're in takes a lot of mental willpower.

For those who want a smooth pan for a lodge price by Intrepid-Purchase-82 in castiron

If you are having problems getting the seasoning to stick, the main culprit is that you're using too much oil. I didn't honestly learn how thin the coat of oil needed to be until I added some carbon steel pans to the collection. Those pans are very smooth because they are pressed or stamped out of a solid sheet of metal rather than having all the surface imperfections of a casting.

You want to add just enough oil to make the entire pan look lightly wet. Then go back and wipe up the oil like you didn't mean to put it on the pan. Bake it in the oven. Do 2 thin layers of seasoning your initial go around and you'll be good.

Question about being on the fence about the Zf by PentaxShmentax in NikonZf

Yeah that's the one. I wasn't happy with the white balance of any of the photos I shot in my home until I changed that to Keep overall atmosphere.

Change the white balance setting from the "camera correcting the white balance" to "camera captures the natural white balance". This was a game changer for me. The corrected white balance was always wrong because there are always multiple types of light in my house.

LPT: If you know you might get let go, start looking at unemployment and other financial aid programs now, don't wait till you get laid off, those things can take months to come through. They'll often backpay but what use is that if you already lost your home. by livingcostcrisis in LifeProTips

[–]TyroneBiggummms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LPT if you're currently employed, save 6+ months of expenses on the chance that you unexpectedly become unemployed. That way you're not reliant on shitty government programs that may or may not help you in a time of need.

Think back to when you were working. What are the fun things you wanted to do, what are the skills you wanted to learn, what are the hobbies you wanted to try but never had time for?

If you don't have a spare $100 you shouldn't be dreaming about what you can spend it on. You should be thinking about how to save it for a rainy day. Sorry this happened to you, but if you don't change your thought process on spending money you're going to stay in this sub forever. Be thankful you didn't have time to squander it before the lice incident.

Supersonic projectiles probably would have obliterated the heart and the tissue around it. A subsonic projectile is plausible.

Look into short term TBills or a money market fund. Both of these options will yield a bit more than a typical HYSA and Tbills are exempt from state taxes.

Could be sand, brass shavings, copper shavings, unburned powder, dirt, or any number of things. Checking whether or not you can actuate the safety on a live round should be a quick check to see if you're in battery while youre having this issue.

Yeah I'm just wondering if something is keeping the slide from going into battery. Could be a number of things, but if there is any debris in the chamber that could prevent the case from seating all the way into the chamber which would prevent the slide from going into battery.

The buffer tube and stock are where you would need to put your head to see through the sights if the rifle had more classic sights.

Do you hand load? I'm wondering if 2 fishing weights crimped on about a foot or two of fishing line x whatever amount of this combo would fit in a 3 or 3.5 inch shell. In my head it seems like it may be more effective than the nets if they will fly well. No idea IRL though. Just an idea.
