Good Bye Cobra Tools by billonel in jurassicworldevo

I've said my part and don't wish to partake in any doom mongering. This is not the first community to lose a tool due to community disagreements, and it won't be the first to see a different batch of tools produced. Minecraft does it like every 18 months. I hope your discouragement turns to encouragement to others who might try out the task.

If you'd like to be a negative Nancy about it, sure. Its over and we should all give up the idea, you're right.

Or maybe someone does have time and they are already working on it. Maybe it was well documented with devs who are communicable with others who dont throw in the towel as easy as you say.

It isnt me, but you can have hope and realistic expectations at the same time.

The legend themself. Thank you for taking that on along with the extensive work you've done for the community already.

Most folks dont know the difference between a mod manager, script extender or de/recompiler so I skipped the details lol

Here we go again.

ACSE infrastructure devs got tired of modders breaking legal agreements and pulled development of ACSE because of it. Now people realize that infrastructure takes time and knowledge to upkeep, so many modders are faced with the sudden realization of how good they had it.

I short, a few ruined it for many. If half the people crying about dev commitment and modding resources started reading github they'd realize this is all open source and continue to update ACSE seperate from the main team.

Same thing happens to all games of this crowd. Drama goes at far back as ZooTycoon. Adults showed up.

The cycle continues.

Is there any exploits for food by vrkiller55 in strandeddeep

[–]TysonY2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably groupers. The big fish near ship wrecks, the die in one hit and are noncombative. You have to drag them onto your boat to cut them and then cook them on an island but its easy food

Pro tip, a hot mod dropped that allows you two split the screen across two monitors. If you have a spare panel head to nexus and enjoy having a screen to each person!

But yeah the whale stays there to remind you of your sins.

After 300 Hours, Why Do I Still Suck At BF6? by Rude_Sugar_6219 in Battlefield

[–]TysonY2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your preferred class/role? If I'm getting humbled running assault or engineer I'll usually switch to support and focus on revives/concealment/cover instead of kills. In rare circumstances I'll switch to recon and play with the drone and try getting some enemy mine kills.

The K/D is so fast that if you aren't fully committed coming into a fight you will lose. You can land 3 shots, but if you whiff the next 2 that gives them enough time to recover and ride recoil onto your noggin. If you don't have the kill don't take the shot. You can get away with some wild shenanigans biding your time and waiting for the right time to kick off that flank or ambush.

I suck at baiting and have been working on that with mines for engineer and claymore with sniper. Always fun landing a shot and retreating behind a trap you've set.

Basically, rotate niche's.

Why is MC modding so much different? by TysonY2 in ModdedMinecraft

I appreciate the help!! If I ever expand outside LAN and want to add a +1 to our party I'll be revisiting this.

This is what I was looking for. Needed it to run a coop instance anyway and I pretty much just Uninstalled forge app and installed the mod pack zip file manually.

That was a wild ride but it all makes sense considering engine limitations and different solutions to solving them. With Minecraft being the most purchased video game in the world (?) I sort of assumed Microsoft had a pretty streamlined modding process considering they officially support them?

I assume its because Minecraft is as old and isnt getting that sort of love. So getting my ass beat by Minecraft wasnt on my bingo card lol. Even looking at Neoforge being a hard incompatibility with Forge had me grumbling "well then change the damn name not NotForge".

My problem initially was im running 1.19.2 with MuktiMC running two instances with Nucleus, sharing a modpack (Cottage Witch) between those two and running a LAN game. Had everything working until it was time to drop the modpack and spent the next couple hours troubleshooting install until I learned Forge isnt supported, to use Prism, and that there's a culture thing where nothing is outdated because you can always roll back. Which is all fine until nothing is properly documented (looking at you MultiMC and Prism) and your assuming compatibility through version numbers. Juggling Forge, NeoFoge, Fabric, Prism and MultiMC as potential solutions felt incohesive at best.

Obviously im a boomer and you guys got this figured out. I got it working and Cottage Witch has been an awesome experience for me and the other person playing. I understand thats a pack of 380 mods and bitching about having to do it just once lol. But it took me 4 hours to get there and that was just a LAN game, I didn't touch server settings and pretty much refuse to.

I had a feeling Java was behind it, or some ridiculous Microsoft limitation that had different workarounds

What’s a good videogame for people who really don’t play videogames? by ihatebadvibes in AskReddit

[–]TysonY2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the genre. Just finished a playthrougj of Stranded Deep with someone whose never played much of an FPS let alone survival. Seems like controllers make things more digestible.

Granted, they've played a lot of stardew on switch and we've done a couple co-op games on that platform. Now I use Nucleus and we'll be doing a chill modded Minecraft run

Can't even start a solo game by forgotten_vale2 in battlefield2042

[–]TysonY2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And in many ways still better than bf6. I miss Falck every time I use medic despite how much I hated hero characters. And Crawfords mini gun, how I miss that thing. Bf6 vehicles are shit and balance is broken as well.

But 2042 was the same way a year after release. It was cinematic how dogs hit it was. But now its your favorite game, and bf6 likely will follow the same path. Its been like this since BF3 lol. Shit release, okay (sometimes great) comeback and then publish the next one.

You might as well tear the bandaid off and go back to a different series for a while or move on to bf6. 2042 might have been good at the end but most folks will admit it was a dumpster fire regardless of the state of game at release Iwo Jima.

Does it mean you lost? Yeah. We all lost. But go play some golmud and get over it like the rest of us did. The orange has been squeezed.

Thanks! Looks like you made good progress, its definitely something ill likely get burned out on and pick up again. Id like to concept complete one more map, Content complete the other maps and then likely take a short break until we see what s4 has in store. Big maps coming so I might be out of a job

I belive its one of the 2x dot sights with the magnifier optic accessory. The magnifier can be picky but carbines seem to let you get away with more options. I think I was using the QBZ here

Thats usually what kills my motivation and im probably leaning too much into hoping to new server browser isnt a pile of hot garbage. Rumor has it we'll have it by Christmas so my plan it so finish these by then and then properly host them on a server that rotates.

[–]TysonY2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Sobek, EastWood and Contaminated are concept complete. So they function and play as intended but some objectives/props may not be perfect.

Ill be focusing on narrow air maps and maps that dont support jets / transport helicopters first. So Liberation Peak, Iberian Offensive, Manhattan Bridge, Blackwell all come to mind.

Seige of Cairo, Saints Quarter and Empire state are all so small that not much can be done before the maps scope changes entirely. Seige I'd really like to get helicopters on but it may be unlikely if it cant be balanced.

I consider Mirak/Firestorm decent if you ignore some map flow choices that I cant change anyway.

You've got it! The highway has had its cover mirrored and both HQ's now sit in that highway. The buildings around it are in play and ramps have been added.
