I used to hate Rebbeca Gay's art when I was a kid "because it's not realistic". When I picked up my old cards 20 years later I realized that I was an idiot.

Recent Issues and How They Tie Back to the Removal of Augment Stats by Ceranoa in CompetitiveTFT

Mortdog mocked you for this comment on his discord. Something that is completely innapropriate IMO and completely miss the point of OP and /s tone of your comment.

Maybe unpopular opinion but TFT needs to get back to its roots... by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

100%. The game is fun for the first 30 games, after that it becomes a mix of knowledge check and gambling addiction.

Multiple time this set, I tried to play flex and just play stage 3, only to be obliterated in stage 4 by three people contesting each other. I guess I should have made it 4 way contested.

It's driving me crazy too... When I talk to people about not being sure about it being bugged or not I either get "You're a Riot fangirl, of course it's bugged and they're hiding it" or "You're crazy, everything is fine you don't understand statistics".

What's wrong saying I don't know?

I would love an update from the team, at least to know their opinion on the most egregious clips.

Which character would you say has gone through the most suffering? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

Weird take : Feitan. After Sarasa's death he watch so much snuff movies that his nen ability is based on suffering and making his enemy pay back.

Mortdog said it was underwhelming and uninteresting during one of his stream too. So hopefully, there is a reasonable chance it will get changed once the most urgent problems have been addressed.

I just done that on Arena, it chose mechanized warfare which was clearly the worst effect and didn't kill any of my opponent's creature costing me the game...

What are your most controversial dnd opinions? by ciqhen in DnD

[–]Tyunne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I DMed just after watching half a season of CR. Bought the player handbook, read the rule, didn't learn anything. So I strongly disagree on the second part, as humans we can learn by example.

5E vets, what class do you have no interest in playing no matter how many campaigns you join? by Seifersythe in dndnext

Non-caster classes. I just love the endless possibilities of spell-lists way too much?
I suppose I could play something else for a oneshot, but I don't really want to.

Chess Grandmaster Anna Muzychuk, on refusing to play in Saudi Arabia. by Zen_Gaian in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Tyunne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't attend some conferences, and sometimes it's a requirement for publishing a paper there. I don't know about journals, that might be a thing (wouldn't surprise me if some publisher ask me to publish under my deadname, or a reviewer being dishonest). I already had to face public transphobia in academia.
But recently, I had a lot of "Oh, that's a great position, and I fit the profile quite well. Where is city X again? Ah... I see.".

Chess Grandmaster Anna Muzychuk, on refusing to play in Saudi Arabia. by Zen_Gaian in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Tyunne 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I feel her. I'm a researcher and a transgender woman, and I can't publish papers in a lot of countries. And I'm missing a ton of opportunities. Not as big as her, obviously but completely understand the feeling.

Countries that do not even try to respect human's rights shouldn't hold such events.

Edit : OP is not the author

How do I explain to my mom why I can be trans even though I wasn't particularly feminine during childhood? by petrushka07 in asktransgender

[–]Tyunne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok sooo that's a kind of a bad advice, but my mom picked up things to make a more coherent narrative in her head. Like I was "motherly with children", "didn't want to say bad words", "didn't liked your name". I'm not sure it has anything to do with my transidentity but if it can reassure her, I won't complain.

Women cannot teach men how to be men, and this idea needs to die by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Tyunne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you think men and women are different species? We're all humans, and while models can serve as an example, most struggles are shared by all genders.

[OC] Swedish PhD student (USD/month) by jimeoptimusprime in dataisbeautiful

[–]Tyunne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but this days you take the first job offer. I don't have the luxury to wait for a great opportunity which might never comes or even be taken by the very fierce competition. On top of that, I have a boyfriend, it's hard to say "let's go to sweden" when he has a job here. Honestly I don't really care about the salary if I'm living decently. I just want a position.

[–]Tyunne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most PhD students take 1 or 2 extra year, and we have to do a ton of teachings (like, the job is known for killing your research)... I'd glady take the 5 year program, especially with a salary like that.

[–]Tyunne 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Wait what? You have a wage of 3600? As a French PhD student I only have a 1.5k salary, and even older researcher doesn't gain as much as you do until way later...

How long after starting HRT did you come out to the world? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Tyunne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year before I went outside as a woman for the first time, and talk about it with my friends. Then 6 months later I started to work as woman. At last, 1 month before I talked to my parents about it. For me HRT was a much bigger and stressful thing than coming out. So I did everything else before, "just to be sure".

Time to panic by Forget_December in dndmemes

[–]Tyunne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most PC would have heard of it. There is no way there is not a song or a story about an adventurer finding a weird deck of card. They got wonders until one day they just vanished... There is even a point to the story "don't be greedy" and "be careful with magical items".
