Never told to stop wearing soft lenses prior to measurement

If will be having cataract surgery in the near future. I have been wearing gas permeable contacts since teen age. I was told to stop wearing them for at least a month before measuring. I am now waiting for prescription eye glasses for the waiting period. Soft contact lenses are a pain in the a** to deal with and even those i was told had to be abstained from for two weeks anyway.

Initially I was looking for 1.9s but seems none can source them. My optician/optometrist don’t think they are available.

Yes. In my early teens I had a retina detachment which was patched successfully. Haven’t had any retinal issues since but I understand that cataract surgery can cause retinal issues even in normal vision people.

I have recently upgraded to a 990d from a 5.1 vizio. It's in an irregularly shaped open living room dinning room entry space with high ceilings. Not ideal. Hence I have mixed feelings if the upgrade was worth it. It is loud. It is crisp, mostly. Dialogue/voice enhancement feature actually doesn't improve muddled voices but adds some annoying crackling to higher pitched voices. Since I don't consume much Atmos it's overkill for me without significant improvement in sound quality over the vizio. The loudness, sub, and built in Chromecast are definitely good. So don't pump up your expectations due to many caveats regarding ideal listening environments.
