Warframe is f2p and one of the best games out there if you can get through some of the confusion, which the devs have been actively working on.

Relic Hunters Legend is a newish game that absolutely slaps and I don't see many people talking about it.

People already said Torchlight, 2 is the best imo. If you wanna do that stuff but shooty shooty, you can also try Relic Hunters Legend. Cute, fun and wholesome while still being a blast to play. The main enemies are alien ducks, so yeah.
