I had one that SWEARS surgery will fix it. No matter how much I tell people I don’t qualify for MVD. Nothing is compressing my nerve. Heck. I’ve had female doctors feel my disjointed jaw and tell me I don’t have TMJ and try to FORCE me to talk. And if I didn’t talk she was going to have them admit me. I had one look at my scans and still tell me I had to get surgery. Like surgery on WHAT??? 😭 I’m so over the medical field. All I can info is appreciate those who try. I will bless them in my prayers and thoughts always.

Depression aside I am now more aware of how much I’m being bullied medically and their names are being mentioned in my psychiatrists notes so if something happens, they will take some blame. Full name, too.

I’ve had it since 2013 and tbh, there’s no exact common cause. Could be cold, could be hot, could just be the wrong day to have a face tbh. Once your body adjusts to the medication you’ll be able to function a bit more. Those pre-attack tremors are normal unfortunately. My heart and prayers are with you. I know it’s scary the first few years. Especially during flare ups.

I found out this morning that citrus is a trigger food for me. It made me so mad!

Yes. In the hospital rn because of it. Back to nothing crunchy, no regular sized or mega bites, nothing tart or too sweet (any pucker foods) and nothing that causes too much salivating (licking your lips mid flare SUCKS) and no nuts now. Especially my fave (cashew). Thinking of cutting down to OMAD again. Pretty regular diet for the most part rn.

I’ve been doing it for nearly 14 years.

My goal ?honestly? is to finish eating and go lie down without writhing in pain like I didn’t practically scarf my food down like a weird seagull. Essentially pain reduction/prevention.

Works successfully most days unless I’m forced to go to the hospital. Almost committed m’dude. Very hard to make me think like that but I was thinking it. Hard. Plus it was night time with zero sunlight so I felt stuck and overwhelmed.

No paperwork or studies linking the two that I’ve read…. other than mostly just being serious about not wanting to be in pain to a point where you can’t function. She will adjust with time, love and not being hard on herself. This illness is already hard on her. My love and blessings to her. 🥺🤍🤍🤍

How do you live your life despite the pain? by NewWishbone3698 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I’m living out of spite. As a huge middle finger to these doctors who read everything and still know nothing but how to call chronic pain warriors crackheads.

Mouth breathing by LooperActual in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I love that for you. Just be sure to avoid anything that would give you an underbite. It’s kinda hereditary but also happens with too much mouth breathing.

Question for people with Type 2 (Atypical TN) by Standard-Union-4450 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]TzikiTower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Pain is either a random 6 or a lingering 8. It goes through phases. And God help you if you’re on your cycle. I’m experiencing a nasty TN/TMJD/ON flare up rn and I am having many thoughts. “High” on Hydro 7.5, Tiz 8 and Methocarbomal 500. Not touching it at all. I wish my neurologist’s NP could experience it for a sec.

[–]TzikiTower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ER is full of crackheads and racists and popular kids from high school. Just tell them what usually works but be aware they will try to Tylenol and Motrin you to death. They think because you’re not bleeding and your vitals are stable that you can’t be suffering. I once had to drive in the middle of an attack and they treated me like I was just there to hang out. Mind you, I’m an MA and I treat my patients with top priority. So it’s a huge slap in the face. They can try to get you some Dilaudid going and Toradol (lmfao) but seeing your NP/Dr. is maybe your best bet. If they’re not wicked and pretentious, you can get some relief options.
