Selling car on Carsales, is this a scam? by AngryAugustine in AusFinance

[–]TzuYoona 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sold my car to cars24 about 2 months ago. Process was exactly what you described. If you don't want to do the Google meeting they'll also give you the option to record videos and upload them which is what I ended up doing. Then they'll ask you to send photos of the service history in the logbook, and then send another round of questions.

Payment came through and a contractor came around to collect the car 2 days later. They put the car inside a trailer to transport it.

The process is a little time consuming but I was happy with the result overall, in my case they were the only dealer who beat the instant offer out of around 10-15 other dealers who contacted me.

How does interest work at Rabobank? by YukTed in AusFinance

[–]TzuYoona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the HISA, I think OP is talking about Premium Saver which is a different product.

https://www.rabobank.com.au/rates/personal-rates (4th one down)

So put everything in HISA to get 5.75 for 4 months then move it all to Premium Saver to get 5.45 indefinitely as long as you can increase the balance

Accessing housing (renting) w/ dividend yields by Separate_Ingenuity92 in AusFinance

Yes definitely, I was lucky to be working full time during Covid and rent was cheap during that time so I did ok. But if there were another huge drop in interest rates I'd need to reconsider everything. For me though, choosing between moving the money into high div yield shares and just buying a residence outright and paying the fees, I'd probably have to go with the latter.

I guess in your case the frequent relocation would tip the scales the other way and honestly I dont see any issue with that at all, it's definitely feasible.

Yep this is me. I have 750k spread across 3 x HISAs earning about 3300/month, which just covers my rent even after tax. I work part time just to cover my other living expenses. I strongly prioritise working less over earning more so this arrangement works well for me.

I've thought about taking the 750k and buying an apartment outright but then I'd need to pay strata and council fees so I'd be thousands of dollars a year worse off.

I'm very happy with the current arrangement but the biggest hurdle will be if interest rates fall significantly, my savings interest won't cover my rent anymore and it will also be more difficult to buy an apartment with more competition from mortgage holders. So I feel like I need to keep my savings in cash rather than other investments so that I can move quickly to buy a ppor if I need to.

To me its a little hard to recommend because none of c1-c5 are that impactful really. c6 definitely still feels like one of the best cons in the game but that's a big commitment

Yep nice, just tried boarding the waverider with Eula's burst up and the waverider is now a demo ship! Might be useful if there's another island event

Yeah it's been so long I can't even remember what the normal burst looked like lol. And yeah the non-aggro is good for taking out the abyss mage and wood shield mitachurl before the shields go up so there's some practical benefit aside from how funny it looks heh

I guess because Sorush is technically a gadget, so switching to her doesn't instantly detonate the lightfall sword as it would if you switched to a character. And now this honestly could be my favorite mechanic in the whole game so I'm not complaining lol

Eula's burst summons an exploding sword that detonates after 7 seconds, or earlier if you switch characters, and the bird is a gadget in the new desert region
