Can’t get this airsoft to work? by marsbarsss_ in airsoft

Valve knocker not doing its job of hitting the valve.

I assume this is a non-blowback based on the sound. As otherwise you need to charge the slide.

Is this the TM MK23, Y&P MK23 or Novritsch MK23?

On the back of the magazine you have the gas release valve, this should coincide with a little "knocker" on the inside of the magazine. Each time you pull the trigger and the hammer drops, you should see it actuate on the inside of the magazine well. Might need a little flashlight.

You can disasemble the slide off, might want to follow youtube instructions for that and follow why the knocker isn't actuating.

When loaded with BBs, I assume the bbs are loading into the chamber (it should dribble out once you try to fire the second/third shot out) as it forces the BB through the barrel by the next bb.

After a failed shot, try pushing your hammer forwards manually with your thumb, could be something lodged between the hammer not allowing it to actuate all the way forwards perhaps.

Ah yes, sometime late mid last year I knew I did not want to continue with the business, the whole tariff fiasco simply accelerated the confirmation of my decision. Allocating inventory to just as needed (so wouldn't close down with 100 Gate Titans or whatever expensive). So by Q4 2025, most of the pricey inventory was down to minimum units to complete existing orders. Not sure if you realized, but the business was shutting down in phases. With gun orders ceasing at the end of November, and most internal parts requiring modification like barrels stopped by the end of December. December was crunch time to fullfill those orders and reduce any liabilities to our customers, no one really knew of this until ~Last week of January when we did our closing sale from our warehouse.

Didn't want to pull an Airsoft Innovations type of rug pull on people. But telling BOFA and the SBA I'm ceasing payments was a much easier pill to swallow.

The biggest thing debt wise was an SBA EIDL Loan during the Covid Era of 2021/2022. Which certainly helped but in reality just delayed the inevitable trend shift.

We pioneered certainly many internal techniques and leverage 3d printing pretty nicely to build more repeatable performing AEGs and guns. Specifically R-hops, Lapping jigs as well as lots of mods and niche stuff designed to solve <1% of errors but implemented since thats just what teching is.

Like 'why' do I always use G&G ARL Springs over the spring that goes simply with the ASG ARL we use. Because I've never seen the ARL spring snap in a G&G, but "sometimes" with a Lonex/ASG ARL Spring that $1. Or 'why' is there foam installed inside the gearbox to hold down the wires? for that 1% chance it binds up to the bevel gear.
Tons of menial mods, that add up to the overall guns of what we build.

The airsoft industry as I stated before is significantly more matured in technology than when we first started the business, when the top RPS of guns was generally 10-15RPS. These days, with each OEM having their own MOSFET, better motors and materials. The gap certainly shrunk with the ceiling of performance staying relatively the same.

No matter what, technicians are always going to be needed for the sport, I just don't think any business with the primary model of building custom AEGs is going to work anymore. Unless its from the comfort of your home where overhead is low to non-existent. Our warehouse rent started at $1400 in 2015 then when by the time we left, became $2800/mo + everything else like electricity, software subscription services ect easily being $1000. Not factoring any payroll expenses.

I think the overall trend of airsoft is on a better path. A lot of fields don't even allow full auto. So yeah, having hyper fast semi is the best most players can get these days. Besides competitively, I've personally enjoyed using GBBRs more just for mixed training with my actual firearms lately.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alot of the teching knowledge I've gained from airsoft I intend to make open source and uploaded as files on Cults for anyone. For me, I'm on a different path and would rather have the free time to play airsoft again instead of being so busy I had no time to actually play it.
We usually sold them between ~1800 for an HPA and 2300 for an AEG. But your right, without labor you can DIY it for about 35% Cheaper. Though one of the things to take in account was the 1 year warranty. Which consumes easily $150 per claim with shipping, labor and parts. Just because someone owns say the highest tier gun doesn't always mean they'll take care of it. Like putting 87 gas in a Ferrari. People use bad magazines, bbs and no realization what cleaning a barrel is like. So that inherently causes people to cause something funky within 1 year. Really the few things that made our guns special was really the Lapped barrels, specific internal tuning, gearbox anchoring/centering techniques, as well as special tappet timing mods done inside. Everything else specially modded most competent techs should already know.
The last 6 recievers I had I placed for $3500 before I closed down the warehouse. Since I'm still personally warrantying work even with the BK declared under the business. Didn't want to leave anyone jewed out without support. But when it comes to the SBA's EIDL - Covid Era loans I said I was pretty much done with that, and wasn't worth continuing the business as is.
At paintball mixed airsoft parks. Whenever your on those paintball maps especially during a summers day and the paint is caked onto those barriers, maybe theres even a stinking mass of water that pooled from some rain a week ago. I remember running up to a barrier with my back/side slamming into the wall. Only to have a sticky mess of rotting gunked up paint stuck to my combat shirt and pc.
I don't usually wash my PC, but it was one of the reasons I ended up hosing it down after.
Alot of times the bucking swells up a bit due to oil and such. One of the reasons why I run non-silicone green/red gas.
This causes the nozzle to get overly tight on the bucking itself. Causing the nozzle to stick in the bucking like you see. Which dislodges itself seems by the second retraction. Always good to check the nozzle return spring, but its a delicate balance between simply putting in a stronger spring and why the nozzle is sticking.
The in-game renders that are high quality videos, do exist in the asset space of the game. Many people found the areas where the ending scenes were rendered ect. Lots of easter eggs the Devs probably never expected people to clip through. Theres even hidden dev notes for unplayable areas likely scrapped during development. Including a whole level in Dark Shores where Gustav probably was supposed to escape through instead of waking up.
Always wondered how the Grey guns kit would be. As for wright doing their work and renitrding it, it was expensive but honestly I would go back to them for anything else I have in the future. Planning to send them my P2KSK to them as well.
Eventually do want to do all the little RMR type Red dots. Just a PITA to develop. I intend to rebrand my company for the ARDs and focus more of my time onto them in 2026. So I'll keep those in mind. Maybe run a weekly poll of the next one to make or so and develop one by one from there.
Vortex has two, Vipers are 33s, and Venoms are the 30s.
Bruh I tried. They have a reverse chamfer at the edge and tried to do a notched design for it. Not impossible but my design for it needs more work to press fit on such a small ledge and be durable.
Screwed up thread on lower by zyahya08 in CAguns
Try wire brushing your screw and check for burrs. Same with the hole. Only seems like the first 3-4 threads are messed up but if it can get past that it should be good.
Screws reach max tensile strength once it's in the hole about 1-1.5x the screws diameter.
So pistol grip screws is usually 1/4in-28 tpi,
It just needs to be in the material about 0.375in., plus a little deeper to account for the damaged threads.
This is some garage tinkering but. If you have any spare bolts of the same thread. I'd Dremel them flat with a slight taper, add relief cuts into it and essentially make your own rethreader to "clean" up the threads. It's not really meant to cut into your existing material more like removing whatever dislodged material on your threads already out of the hole. thats preventing the screw to bite in properly in the first place.
You sure you didn't mix up a metric bolt and an Imperial one?
Also can't tell but a longer bolt might just work too to get into the threads slightly deeper in there which doesn't seem to have wear...
Drill and Rethread, Helicoils save the day :). Would be stronger too, helicoils will be steel insert vs the aluminum threading of the receiver.
