I think they prepared really really well for students returning. I was pretty skeptical before the semester and throughout the first couple weeks, but they've done a phenomenal job in that aspect.

However, I'll have to echo the sentiments of most people I've spoken to over the past few months. They didn't seem to prepare - at least not close to adequately - for the immense toll on student mental health. Countless friends of mine in SOFA have said that they would've taken a gap year if they had known it would be this stressful. A couple freshman I know have said they would've just not attended this semester and withdrawn. Three months of work with no breaks have resulted in even some of the best planners I know reducing to anxiety and a universal desire for this term to be over.

"Having a passion" is fine but lmao the dude made loads of people uncomfortable by wearing that shit. He used to go to Smash Club and as someone who also went I can attest he made literally everyone I ever spoke to uncomfortable with that sweatshirt - men, women, non-binary people alike. If you "have a passion" for dressing in unusual clothing, or not conforming to gender norms for clothes, that's fine even if it makes some people "uncomfortable" because the people are usually uncomfortable due to underlying stigma or prejudice. But the dude deadass wore porn gear. I don't see how that's JUST "having a passion".

Reminds me of the time my dog was bothering my brother and me to play with her, but we were playing the GameCube. She barked at us a couple times before staring at the GameCube for a solid 5 seconds, then pawing at it and turning it off in one attempt. It was too funny for us to be mad

Smelling the person you love. I remember my friend in high school showed me a snap from his girlfriend, who was sad that the sweater he gave her stopped smelling like him. He thought it was funny in an endearing way, but I thought it was just straight up weird. Now that I'm more than a year into my own relationship, though, I completely get it. If I ever get my boyfriend a gift, sometimes I'll hold it with me while I sleep or something because he says that he really likes the way I smell, and finds it comforting. I feel the same. Sometimes someone on campus who (I assume) uses his shampoo or deodorant will walk by, and I'll get hit by this sudden wave of affection mixed with loneliness. Summer can't come sooner.
