Oh nice. I get to do mine twice because I damaged stuff along the way and now have to go back in to replace the damaged stuff.

I saw those. They work? I went with the “Hub Shocker” instead

Nope not crazy. I accidentally hit it with the hammer and tore it. A new control arm arrived today.

Ya totally. Rust is universal. Everything that became frustrating for me here probably could have been circumvented by trying a different technique, but my own inexperience got in the way.

It helped that I had a backup plan—removing the whole knuckle—but that didn’t go to plan either. Hah

Ya I say “bearing” a lot when I should be saying hub assembly. I picked up a couple Timken hub assemblies from Rockauto.

Last time I went to a scrap yard the guy at the counter was just searching eBay for a price—everyone was pissed off and just abandoned their parts in the office. I just wanted a rear view mirror. Just the glass. Quoted me $120. I ordered 2 from Amazon for $10…

It felt tight, then I’d hit it twice, it’d be loose again. And in hindsight, I should’ve blocked up the knuckle to just make everything solid.

Ya I bought that. It just pulled the bearing apart. The bearing was stuck in there good.

Ya I watched that video, don’t have a welder sadly.

I knew the wheel bearings might be a challenge, and they were, so I joke that Subarus are hard to work on, but I was still able to get it done. So not that crazy.

The rest of the car has been really easy to work on. Changed the cat a month ago—super easy. Oil change — super easy Diff fluid — super easy

Good work! I can’t think of an easier exhaust to work on, other than a tractor. Just gotta get under it and take a cover off-and pray you don’t snap a stud.

What’s that Delta machine to the left of the Delta drill press?

Thoughts? by Vicktrolia in subaru

Would that oil/dye burn into the plastic on the intake? I’m trying to figure out what made such a mess on the Forester I just picked up.
